Are you playing in OpenGL graphics mode? Looks like Software to me. Half-Life is best played (as in, runs faster, looks better, glitches less) in OpenGL mode.

in Last movie you saw? Post #299841
The ending was the whole point of the film, the rest was just build-up. Watching the film you did not expect it to end like it did, just as the attacks weren't expected to happen in real life and nobody expected to lose their family member or friend that day. They couldn't advertise it as a 9/11 film because then the point would be ruined. If you don't care for the characters, I can see how you don't care for the ending. You don't care if a film character you don't care about dies.

I liked it, but that's probably because I was expecting total crap. ("Staring Twilight's Robert Pattinson")

If you have read this and/or the above post, do not see Remember Me.

Is it (or should it be) against the rules to edit the light data of a BSP (or to write a custom HLRAD)? I believe it can be edited to drastically change all colours of a surface, essentially painting over the texture with a new image.

in Computer beep codes Post #298188
It's probably your motherboard that's making those noises. There should be a beep code table in its manual. If you don't have the manual you can most likely download a PDF version of it from the web.

But first, open your computer and see if all the fans are running as they should.

Hating on Christianity is completely acceptable, just as showing dislike towards any other undemocratic way of life. [/sarcasm]

Islam is not an "undemocratic way of life". It's a religion. Just as it is with Christians, Buddhists, Jews etc., Muslims can be democratic or antidemocratic. Saying Islam is an "undemocratic way of life" is like saying Christianity is homophobic. True, there are many Christian idiots who hate gays. But there are also many tolerant Christians that let other people live the way they want.

If there aren't enough cops to keep order, calling in the military (to protect houses, workplaces, cars and people - not to force people off the streets) sounds like a smart move. They can't let those morons destroy London. Their country's economy is bad enough without people looting workplaces.

in Local Gun Law Post #297423
If guns are needed in America but not in the rest of the world, then America needs to change. You'll never get rid of those guns if you never start disarming. Criminals and everyone else. Disarming good people may put them in danger or make them vulnerable to abuse over the next years, but once the guns are off the streets it'll be worth it. Freedom is worth sacrifices and the freedom of living without having to risk getting shot or threatened with a gun is to me a very important freedom. Worth a few restrictions.

That said, I don't blame Zeeba for getting a gun. I'm sure he'll handle it fairly responsibly. As would most people. I'd probably have a gun if I were American. I wouldn't risk my life for a laptop though. It is not worth risking a life for, your life or that of the person taking your laptop.

Light is the phenomenon created when a photon is created, and this occurs when an electron snaps back into its valence charge. Infrared and ultraviolet are these but aren't seen.
Ultraviolet is seen by many bug species.

The easiest way to get a country would probably be to buy or invade Sealand (if you see that as a real country) or to become pope.

Once you've located it, either move it to world (by right-clicking and clicking Move to World) if it's a clip brush, or retexture it.

I do not see joining TD as an investment, I see it as a chance to have some fun. If you enjoy mapping, coding, modelling or whatever you might as well do it with someone else, Dimbark in this case. As long as you enjoy what you're doing, you win.

My guess is that magic quotes (a PHP feature/bug which adds backslashes before \, ", ' and NULL) was activated on the previous server and that Penguinboy wrote code to remove the unnecessary backslashes and when TWHL moved to the new server, on which magic quotes is deactivated, he did not remove that code.
