Basically I want a door to open first which leads to the next level when all monsters has been wiped out on the map.
Trigger conditions can't be set from monstermaker monsters, but it sounds here like you are going for an arena-style situation where all monsters must be killed to make the door open. How many monsters are there? You could theoretically set up multiple monsters to target the same multisource that targets the door, though I dunno exactly what you have in mind.

Wait I see you want to modify properties for children monsters. Well that is hard. Best thing I can think of is place a monsters with your properties in some faraway area and have them come in via a trigger teleport.

A psychadelic hallucination themed mod would be really cool! I only remember 2 or so mods involving fun hallucinations, like life's end and doomed life, but this premise is a really great way to express your creativity, I bet.

It does look like a tutorial edit largely because the same sprites are used, there's actually alot more in it than the tutorial though

I remember trying my hand at working on RPG maker, for free. It's easy to learn, but to make a professional 2D RPG like final fantasy would take several years.

The thing with Dimbark is I think, he has all this Free Time and Ideas flowing thru his head and wants to make something of it, but doesn't have the expertise. Also he seems bent on making a Profit, which in itself deters recruitment because in reality if you hire someone you have to give up some of the Profit to be gained from the sale of the theoretical product, before the product is even finished and sold. This means that the recruiter, Dimbark, must have funds up front to hire the personnel to ensure the completion of the Profitable product, even before the Profit is generated. And with such a cursory attitude towards economics as this:
What sucks is that I had no pockets and I had to have the gym teacher hold onto the money for me. I forgot to get it back.
It would be nearly impossible to obtain any kind of Profit if it is managed in such a manner. In conclusion, someone needs to take a basic economics and business class before being able to produce a profitable videogame.
And also, once again, please show us a demo so we know you have spend your time on this, that might increase the chances of recruitment.

And while we're on this subject, why don't y'all try my buddy's airplane shooter game filled with stuff from old nintendo games?

The story is still open at this time, but the fixed thing is that you are wearing a HEV suit, the weapons from vanilla are all available, and so are the monsters. I don't have much maps at this point but once I do I can make a story for it. But here's the status update:

I think my ping would be substantially better for June only.
From before:
I get 230+ ping. Didn't expect a good number from Frankfurt, Germany.
But right now:
Ping = 380
What the Flip, here I am half the distance from Germany than where I was before and my ping went up by 100. This makes no sense.

Counter strike has the best playable MP bots out of all goldsource games, I believe. There are more tactics involved due to the given in-game objectives, which involves more strategy than typical deathmatch find-shoot-kill gameplay. That gets old pretty fast.

I think my ping would be substantially better for June only. But I'll be too busy at this time. I'll see if I can make it on what was it, June 17?

I just need to declare the 'pc' outside of that for loop, because the bottom if statement occurs outside this loop.
Basically I would like to have the same thing only that the pc isn't declared inside the for loop.

Anyway ninja defuse's method freezes the game when trying to chat. I guess this isn't a big deal since no one chats in single player, I think. If no one can solve this then I'll just go back to the original 'char pc;' and chat will be permanently disabled.

It's not something complicated. I just need to declare the 'pc' outside of that for loop, because the bottom if statement occurs outside this loop. I tried putting "char pc;" in the front, but that appears to just silence chat. All this fun is due to the microsoft developing software not being backward compatible. (We already know microsoft didn't give a crap about backward compatibility when they made Windows 7)

I also make a habit out of opening mysterious exe files that I find on dubious sites or in even more dubious torrents. I wouldn't know how to get a virus even if I wanted one.
I don't use torrents or download anything, it got injected into my computer by some kind of website script (prolly an ad, which puts stuff on your hard drive without you even clicking it... I had that happen before) Flipping technology always used for evil instead of good.

and lol about the anime, well I dislike anything lewd so it was just some innocent show unfortunately with people dying.

Hello again TWHL, since everyone has done this at some point I might as well jump on the covered wagon.

So I was just watching some anime, and then I lost connection and some obviously cheesy shit passing itself off as an antivirus starts to tell me this and that. Now you know I'm not some old man knowing nothing about computers like my dear old dad, so I already know it's a fake.

The first time I got these kinds of things from watching anime, it resulted in mass stupidity. But now that I am experienced, I can tell you exactly what I did to get myself back on the internet. For you see, the sonuvabitch linked its own launch with that of iexplore and firefox, sly bastard. But I always do the four-step amateur elimination procedure.

Step 1: Identify the virus.
You do ctrl alt delete and find the process that the jackass's real identity is. In my case it's kma.exe. It was posing as some generic windows script program. Bull shit the only windows I know is explorer.exe so everyone else can kiss my ass.

Then Right click that process to find the location it is in. In my case, he was in C:/Users/2muchvideogames/AppData/Local. At first I went there and couldn't find it. But luckily I knew about Folder Options since I was 10, so it turns out sucker was pretending to be a system operating file (and thus is hidden)

Step 2: Kill the process.
Just press the end process button. I confirmed that virus is indeed the kma.exe because when I kill the process, the fake antivirus crap disappears.

Step 3: Fix the registry.
Search your little virus "kma.exe" in the registry. Delete all entries associated with that file. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE. I once deleted search assistant and the next day couldn't even get pass the logon screen.

Step 4: Incapacitate or kill the program itself.
I went to the AppData/Local folder and eliminated kma.exe (revealed with Folder Options) and his two goonies. And now here I am.

On a side note, despite Kaspersky's pricetag and reputation, it's a massive fail that didn't find this lil' sucker on multiple sweeps. I scanned kma.exe directly with kaspersky and it says and I quote "No threats found". I think maybe it didn't do anything malicious but blocking firefox and iexplore with fake antivirus message is pretty malicious for me, and for you all, I bet. In the end, you are your own best antivirus. Now excuse me I have to finish that anime only 2-3 eps left.

First of all, I want to bring to your attention what you are offering:
60 weapons (hard-coded maximum in HL1 is 32)
long gameplay(implies over 20 maps(not including MP). By comparison, opposing force has around 50-ish)
10 multiplayer modes (by comparison, Counter-strike has 4-5 w/o modding)
vehicles - this may require a crapload of coding. CS is known to have failed in that. I only know 3 HL mods that involved driving vehicles.

That will alot of work, for Eli and for you guys. I estimate it will take at least 5 years. If you have some kind of demo going then I would strongly encourage you to work on the mod, but at this point it's still in the womb.

I hope phillip posts additional mods because I already have long since played over 300 of his currently posted mods. However, I need your help. I cannot do this alone. As you all know I have to do other stuff, and won't be able to keep up in this binge. So I am asking you all, fellow HL'ers, to join me in playing these old mods, and discuss them here if you want. Together we can defeat all 100 of them, thus proving our superiority at gaming over all others! We can do it!

With any luck, all 100 will be mods I already finished and thus all I have to do is spam the journals with my ever-so-lovely mod reviews. You're welcome.

You can't hope to beat me with that shoddy performance. Lemme one up ya:

PROOF: In the chapter surface access, you start staring at a huge rectangular wooden door. First, you walk into a small barrel yard; there is a gasmask grunt to the right and a shotgun grunt to the left. Across the yard are two grunts in a cave, one squadleader and a cigar smoking grunt. Past that is a ramp down to the hydroelectric dam, with some boxes to the right, and a grunt guarding the turbine control station. As you approach, the grunt runs out and a slave follows him, only to be blown up by an apache that appeared from the left. Across the dam is a func tankmortar piled into sandbags. In the sewage-coloured water is an ichyosaur. there is a ladder up the tower where there is a turbine control button and a wall medkit to the right behind you. The turbine is actually weirdly crafted as behind the fan is a black func_illusionary brush and the other side has some dead scientist on rocks with a battery. At the end of the swim is a closed grate tunnel, and a ladder up into two redlighted tunnels that both join to the left into the next mapchange. End of map c2a5.

This is the level of detail expected of you, dimbark. You haven't nearly played enough videogames.

Alright, took a look at it. Definitely a good russian modsite, with lots of content I have not seen before. There's a few mods that I have not seen before (wow!) but they have the word 'alpha' in the name which means I prolly didn't miss much.

After looking thru all their mods (most of which I have played already) I looked at the maps they had. Lo and behold the first page I see a very familiar looking "brushopolis_entry" that was submitted under the name Cep}|{ in 2010. Yeah, there isn't much here in terms of originality. I didn't want to go thru the other 1939 maps they have... too lazy right now.

They seem to have a lot of categories of prop models, but I personally am always looking for good weapon and monster models. Under weapons, about half the models there were ported from HL2/portal, which I had no use for. It's quite sad, actually, there's like 4 skins of portal gun for the gauss section alone. They even have a hopper mine replacement for tripmine, lol.

Same deal with monsters. A lot of them are clearly from gunman, sven coop, paranoia, azure sheep, among other well known mods. There's also a fair share of hl2 ported things. About half the models I recognize from other sources. However, there is a good amount of stuff I have never seen before, such as the starcraft zerg models which look cool enough (hope it's not ported from ghost or something).

It's pretty good, but there's not enough new things. I have this hunch that after I look thru all the monster models I prolly won't get much out of it, but hey I've already sucked the banana dry so why not.

Say, is this going to be combined into a mod a la cubicles? If so I hope everyone has gameplay in the maps. If needed, I can provide floating scientist or barney corpses for ambience. Hey, in fact I have some ichysaur model replacements, imagine you jump in the pool, and come a barney gnawing on ya. Ha!

put the entire folder in your Half-Life folder. restart steam and the spirit should appear in your steam library. the spirit.dll should be in the folder half-life/spirit/dlls
the client.dll should be in the half-life/spirit/cl_dlls

anyway are you trying to map for spirit? you need spirit.fgd for hammer to recognize spirit-related stuff

Anyway I can't contest whether it's fake or not since I also saw the same article on a print newspaper.

If these statistics are true, then American colleges must be a nightmare. It said alcohol had alot to do with it, and also this quote was used:

I usually believe wikipedia, but this entry looks like something off uncyclopedia. Go figure.

Seems another sad, sad man spiked his coworker's drink with his, um, tadpoles. I searched on google and this sort of thing has happened already more than 3 times. What's up with modern society are people really this sad, that they have to go do this sort of things? I know a number of TWHL peeps have already retracted their belief in society's rationality and frankly I too might have to do that very soon, if not already.

theres a map I made that I lost rmf and map files to, only have bsp. Tried bsp2map and found out what they meant by 1-unit thick walls. Seriously they hollow every single brush into 1-unit thick brushes, and cylinders get really screwed up. I really can't be bothered to fix that map, oh, what a pain.
