I must say that i think you people don't know what i can. I know things about variables, statements (If, Else) and i do understand functions too. It might not be perfect knowledge that i have but i have some experience with it. I can translate C++ to the Unity used C language pretty well. I can understand it, i just don't know where to start from.

All i need is a start and then i can get to work again. Should i work with a 2D engine? I can possibly do that.

I would love to know how to make a game engine from scratch. But the Tau Ceti engine got to wait until i know better. I'll use OpenGL, because i have it.

If you wondered what my aim was and why i decided to stay on this site. It's because of my on-work game "Liquid Space". It's inspired by Bungie's Marathon games and nowadays a-bit of System Shock 2. Here i will reveal some things about the game and where i'll share my plans with you all. I can't guarantee completely everything because it's not even halfway finished but i will say what it is and what i plan to do. (Don't merge or remove this thread please)

1: What is it?
A First-Person-Shooter. A classic one about that. I've planed to create my own game engine from scratch named "Tau Ceti" that is a simple and modable engine simple as that.

2: What's the scenario of it?
Space Scandinavians! I'm Swedish so i have to put it like this because i know it. I'm planning on being more unique rather than steal from Marathon and System Shock so you can be excited for something new from me. And i will not reveal the story, just yet.

3: What's your plans?
It's pretty stupid but i must say that i will get some helpers and build and program a game platform for my custom games! It won't be a too complex platform, it will be a text based computer like DOS. It's insane, but then i have something to do rather than listen to music all the time and getting ideas that will never happen.

4: Something more?
I might not be a genius. But i can do this anyway.

That's it by far. I now need to work on it a-bit to make sure i get something done.

I have none. I just realized it. I can't do it because i got so much work to do.

I have to many projects in mind. I have no time at all to do coding and just 1 life. I need to focus on other things. I'm even starting to hate coding. (I think)

I can't use SFML and i actually want to create my own graphics. It's hard but i need to do that if i must. I want to make a game that i could create from scratch. I don't need already built graphics because it's not what i was aiming for.

And i do say i dared to come up with an idea to make my own game platform in the future.

What is my plans? Why would i want this? Why did i decide to learn C++? It's simple.

Marathon. By Bungie.

I must say that i'm a big fan of Marathon. It's a game before Halo and is definitely among the most underrated games of all time. It's the influence of this game that i want to create. I don't care if it's going to take years for me to learn because i got a goal. And it's called "Liquid Space".

I need to say that i do understand a-lot of it. Doing "Hello World" isn't complicated for me, i did scripting before on Unity(Which made me know a-bit on how similar it is) and i think i actually know some basics of C++ already.

Maybe i should do a-little test for myself. But recommendations are still helpful.

It have been still for awhile now, so it's time to try C++ again.

I've gotten an idea about how to make things easier for me that you all can help me with. Give me tasks and recommendations on what to make. If it is too complicated for me then i'll research it.

2D-first or not 2D-first, i need to begin somewhere and i can't decide where.

Help me by giving me a job to do.

It's just hard and i have learned nothing. It's worthless.

I'll never do C++ ever. It's not worth it in the end. I'm supposed to work on other things instead so i don't got time at all.

I can some batch so i'm pretty familiar with programming. I also can do scripts in Unity. So i can basically start with C++ with help.

Because i literally can't learn if no one teaches me. I have a handicap after all.

So where should i start? How about a top-down shooter. (In 2D of-course)

Can i get scripting help here? By that i mean the whole process of this little game. It shouldn't be that bad really, i can get help of you people. We'll start with the basics and see how far we can go.

For some reason Visual Studio doesn't work for me. (Or has expired, i need to check) I i work with Notepad++ by the way. It's primitive but it works. I used it to make text adventures on batch files.

By the way i hate Bioware, just because of envy and now can't look at their games without getting angry. Just saying.

I want to make a game, which isn't made in Unity, are not a modification and are made in C++ coding. (Maybe C++11 because someone in the Hive Workshop suggested that i use it) Is there anyone here who can help me build 3D graphics from scratch?

I am new at this so please direct me. (If someone here knows how to make 3D out of scratch in C++)

If i make a new bone (In the same armature as the rest right?), put it in the models origin, parent the rest of the armature to it and call it Bip01, the character will be able to move?

If you wonder what project i'm making that was mentioned in my first journal then I can proudly say that it's a game named Scorch.

It's inspired by certain Bungie made games such as Marathon(The very first Halo) and Halo itself. At-least it was inspired by the soundtrack in the custom scenario "Marathon Eternal" for Marathon.

It's simply about a space marine fighting aliens and such. I'm gonna make the maps in just simple colored brushes and the model textures the same.

I made it too simple. The aliens doesn't need clothing(Hidden Privates) but the blue ones will still have chest armor and the pink one flying cloth. The corridor's too simple so i expanded it.

I admit i can't these kind of things because i never tried it. I don't know how to make OR even know what a root bone is. But if i will ever know it then i need to learn it.

I use Blender. Please. Just say what i need to do.

EDIT: Or i can just do this project of mine in unity and release it on the 3ds.

No, but it does need an ACT_WALK/RUN for the AI to identify the sequence as a walk for example from the Hgrunt:

i did this actually. It look like
