Perhaps things cant be entirely proven, yes. But by running the calculations ( i did physics in Year 12 ) and comparing it to what i see i can tell that it ( whatever is happening ) is a much more likely to be happening from the scientific reason than by an 'act of god'.

Religion and education are similiar if no the same, but religious education is in a way more radical and more bias than normal schooling. It teaches us to beleive these things happened these ways when there is no evidence - thus my point > Religions are teaching us things we shouldnt be taught and promoting us to conflict with those who disagree. This is the motive of terrorist bombers is it not? - westerners are evil, our religions tell us to attack, to defend our religion - our beleifs! IT SHOULDNT HAPPEN BUT IT DOES AND IT IS ALL BECAUSE OF RELIGION, it sucks

Ant buddhism do not beleive the Buddha is a god, he is the first person they beleieved to acheive enlightenment and taught it to many people, i beleive his original name was Siddartha Gautama or something really similiar, he is not a god to them, just human (now dead but obviously).

My bad. - Ant

Everyone here seems to be pulling out quotes as though they are to be beleived - WHY? what makes who said them right, why say the at all?

And to all these arguments about what good christianity does and what god does to people - you are not thinking it through - the good natured christians you are talking about are exactly that good natured - theyre actions come from within - it is entirely their choice to make and they do, the are entirely possible without a god. Religions are a way of seeying life put down by someone long ago, and picked up by many - i beleive good nature and wellbeing comes from how you feel inside, what YOU think you should do and what YOU beleive you should do.

Science probably isnt the best ideal to follow but i'll stick with it because its got something no religion truely has PROOF - and isnt proof the basis of all justice in our world? Think about it...

wow, make that up yourself?

Being able to see the forces is different to being able to see the forces in action. With science i can see the forces that gravity exert on objects, i can see the reaction forces exerted back - it all works together. With religion i see one force, a faceless character issuing orders to people who blindly follow. There is a type of aethist who beleives in science, who does not fear that which does not exists - instead he fears what it does to those who do beleive. I call this type of aethiest Strider.

true Crystalman, anything is possible. One of the most misunderstood things in the universe is the blackhole - especially where one leads to, the problem is anything that gets close to one is stretched apart with unbeleivable force! But yeah anything is possible, and aliens (of a sort) do exist, forms of bacteria and life have been found on other planets so its entirely possible that another life form has evolved (like us).

There are numerous religions in the world and it really does beg questions as to what are there 'true' origins - i really dont know what to beleive in this day and age. I am an atheist, but however if i was to 'adopt' a religion it would definately be Buddhism. WHY? because Buddhism does not tell you there is a god, it is based around the idea that YOU find inner harmony (becoming enlightened) it is the only religion that i consider rational. I really cant beleive there is an almighty god looking down on us frotm heaven. There it is - Strider's religious story. In stores next month

that battle chatter system has been used (or something similiar) on many games, its not intelligent - its an illusion to intelligence - they CONSTANTLY yell out shit like 'enemy behind the low wall' when your surrounded by low walls and theyre right infront of you. I got the special edition and ive watched it - still not impressed. the mg42 ARE pre-placed by the level editors just as you would those ar2 type guns for hl2 its not the ai, theyre scripted to use them at particular points in the game. The worst part about it all is that i SOLD call of duty to buy the sequel!

the mg-42 a pre-pkaced by the game designers, the moving tanks are scripted to move back and forth - they dont really see you. The A.I. constantly stand up when theyre being shot at, im sick of my men dying for stupid reasons!

The A.I. in fear isnt all that impressive, ive run up to guards numerous times to fly-kick them in the head (that bit i love) but they dont seem to notice me until im 2 inches from their face. It's all a trick, they tip of certain items for cover (scripted) and crawl under things to appear lifelike, theyre really not that smart - just tough bastards to kill. Cap'n P i gotta admit the American campaign is good and those levels where you have to control numerous buildings to win, but theyre like 4 or 5 levels out of a total what? 27 missions i think, it's got its bits but i still remain fairly dissapointed in it.

Oh yeah whats OFP?

it really is nothing impressive in terms of gameplay the graphics are technically brilliant but that's not what's important is it!? In terms of freedom - the most choice i had is choosing whether to go through a door, or the whole blown in the wall next to it. Your right Captain P about the latter levels being better (the american campaigns opening stage is good) but its not consistent, i had to fight through the boring russian and brittish campaigns to find 1 good level!

Well it's out, and i gotta say i'm severely dissapointed. It really feels like Infinity Ward have taken a step backwards - like the gameplay has become more linear and controlled.. It just doesn't feel like a war. The nice graphics just hide the rather dull game. The first missions feel just like a rehash of the COD1 russian campaign. Who's played it? Opinions?

FEAR doesn't compare to Doom 3 in terms of gameplay, but graphically it is superior. FEAR is all about combat ( although the combat is fairly glitched ) Doom 3 is about being scared - there is a difference. RE4 is not shit, it is shit at scaring you perhaps but it is a good shooter. Silent Hill is slow but freaky, i mainly just get anoid with that game.

sometimes in games the most scared you get is from expecting something to happen. The tension scared me when i first played doom3, then it got repetitive, RE4 was not scary but it was a good shooter, probably the only scary things were the regenerators, coz they look like giant evil mangled babies. Now playing FEAR, it is not scary and has got the worst character ever - a fat ass ( i mean massive ) who totally kills the mood, what are game designers thinking.
