This is a standalone Xash-powered HL1 mod, which means you don't need Half-Life
to run it, simply extract the zip file somewhere in your PC, and run game.exe!

[THE STORY SO FAR]
The year is 2096. Advanced Engineering Corporation (AEC) facilities
have been on the forefront of groundbreaking technology
and human experimentation.
The mastermind of the experiments - "The Doc", has been developing
a technology people could only dream of until now - a time machine.
The Doc's planning to use the time travel technology to travel to the future,
and bring things from the future to the present. It is believed that 50 years from
now a discovery will be made that will change mankind forever - the key to eternal life.
The Doc wants to bring eternal life to the present, and make himself the most powerful
person who's ever lived.
One of The Doc's scientists - Dr. Hoff, believes that commiting such actions will lead
to the destruction of mankind, and has gone rogue. To avoid getting himself killed,
he has hatched a plan to stop The Doc, and shut down the whole facility.
He has reprogrammed J-727 Mark II (Jay), the facility's mainframe AI computer -
to become hostile to The Doc, and free all human experimentation patients.
One of them being Patient #84, who was selected for time travel experimentation a few weeks back.
In exchange for freedom, he must help with the plan.
The time machine prototype can only go to the past, but with the power of several Time Crystals,
one can go to the future, so to stop The Doc, Patient #84 must travel to the past and collect
the Time Crystals before The Doc's enforcers do.
The first stop is a mining facility in the middle of North America in 1932, in an ancient
temple of a serpent water god.

[GAMEPLAY]
TimeWarp plays pretty much the same as regular Half-Life does,
however there's a few changes to make it different, the most important being the armor system.
[ARMOR SYSTEM]
The mod has a new armor system based on individual armor pieces which
also give the player a bonus effect.
There are 4 meters on your HUD that tell you the health of the armor pieces,
and the more health they have then the more effective the bonus effect will be.
HELMET
Gives 15 armor points when picked up.
Bonus effect - Reduces view punch when shot, and headshot damage.
VEST
Gives 25 armor points when picked up.
Bonus effect - Adds additional damage reduction.
GLOVES
Gives 5 armor points when picked up.
Bonus effect - Speeds up weapon reloading.
BOOTS
Gives 5 armor points when picked up.
Bonus effect - Reduces fall damage.

[ADDITIONAL NOTES]
- Don't save during cutscenes, it'll result in a broken save.
- Multiplayer sorta works but is unsupported.
- NPC's sometimes freeze in place, I have no idea what causes that and I'm assuming
it's just some HL1 jank that could only be fixed with a rewrite of the AI code.

Awesome great quality of gameplay i played it to the end of the demo, the graphics are great, awesome effects of explosion, torch, water, etc ... the animations are great, the voice acting is really good, keep up the good work, wish you luck ^^

I loved this! Loved the art style, had fun with the gunplay, loved the environments, I'm intrigued by the story and impressed by what you managed to achieve, I also thought it was pretty funny that we told the detectives we were from the future and they were basically like "oh, not again" lol.
What you got here is something pretty special, I can't wait to see more!
Edit: oh yeah, I read in the ReadMe that saving during cutscenes causes problems, I would suggest having an alert for that at the beginning of the game, like maybe soon after the player is given control it pops up on screen.

I see, good idea.
Really nice demo. I loved the artwork, models, animations...and especially cutscenes. Wow! Feels very refreshing to see such well-staged scenes in a Half-Life-like game. The music and voice acting are well-done too. Some notes I could mention: I was using basically the revolver only - it has a lot of ammo, it's powerful and it's very precise even at long ranges. I didn't need to use other weapons like pistol or smg as the revolver could do all the work easily. The other thing is that took me a good while to find the brick to press on the wall in the temple. But I was never good at finding those things :P
Overall I really really enjoyed it and looking forward to more! It's also nice to see it runs on Xash but I'm not sure why it was renamed to "engine".

Ah I see. Initially it was xash.dll, I guess they renamed it for some reason.
Haha to me it was like, I entered that room and I immediately went "oh look, a secret passage!" lol. I'm as blind as a bat generally, so I don't mean anything by it, but that's a funny contrast.
Good, very good indeed. i like the visuals and the voice acting is alright and the music is great.
The only thing that could be better in the future might be the movement, it's kind of stiff, the revolver is great, but the rest of weapons like the Pistol and the Thomson SMG are pretty unreliable, specially the Tommy gun, with exception of the dynamite sticks. other things like the jank in enemy and allied movement are Half-Life problems and not TimeWarp.

This Mod has so much potential, and I enjoyed the Demo. Can't wait for the full thing
Definitely a good mod, though I have a few gripes with the mod that I'll write below:
Music is definitely good, though in some parts (mainly the combat sections) it feels off in a way, as there isn't a change in the music to make it more tense and more fun like other games do; SWAT 4 for example. The weapons animations are alright, except for the draw animation for the pistol. It definitely could have some work done.
The voice acting in this mod is fine but definitely feels awkward in a way, feeling like it's just being read almost? It gets the job done but I know it could be better and I hope it is better with the full release.
The gameplay is alright, really fun in some sections; missing something in others. Some sections feel like they are really really good and then others just feel like some enemies placed on a map with no consideration; hopefully this can be fixed because if every fight felt like the good ones (The fight before entering the temple, for example) this game would be awesome.
The last gripe I have is the balancing. All the guns feel underpowered and the pistol feels like a peashooter, compared to the revolver which just blows it out of the water making the pistol useless, not having any reason to exist unless you run out of ammo on everything. The SMG was actually pretty fun to use with the revolver like a HL1 MP5 SPAS combo but still, they felt like they took too many hits to kill enemies.
The rest of the game was great though, can't wait for another release; hopefully my issues with the game can be fixed to make it even better than it already is.
Edit: Forgot to mention this when writing but despite the enemies being bullet sponges, I never went below 70 health (on normal difficulty); making the game not a challenge in the slightest, so the balancing should probably be changed
This is awesome, and very quirky. The characters are adorable also. Cannot wait for any update, release, etc.

Windows Defender is screaming at me, saying game.exe has a trojan. camplsfix
it's a false positive, idk how to fix that since i didn't make the engine but you should just be able to add it to defender's exception list or something
what engine is this? xash? let's forward this issue to them.

It's better to forward this issue to your AV software vendor. Or just use more smart AV.
I downloaded the demo, scanned it with Windows Defender, and even launched it, and it came back ok. I even put the DLL files and the main EXE into VirusTotal to double-check.

Wow, this game is of absolutely outstanding quality for a solo game developer, it surpassed my expectations a lot! A bit of reminiscence of Wanted, Gunman & Timeline, but totally unique in everything else. Thanks for this masterpiece!
Played from start to finish. You can tell the amount of work and effort that has gone into this to create a polished demo. Gameplay was fun. Story line was interesting, looking forward to seeing where it goes. Art style was very pleasing. I love the animated mouths, and how it suits the style you have. (+1 for the mustache moving when he talks xD).
I found Gordon's model when you put him in third person on the console

Great demo! Running it in Linux via wine... seems to work well. Love the cartoon style. I have to run it via integrated graphics (Intel UHD 630 on a 8th Gen i7 CPU) vs the GTX 1050 GPU, but the frame rate is good.
Can't wait to see more of this! Nope, haven't finished it yet lol :D
