I don't know if it's casual or something happened to you, but your voice seems to have a shortness-of-breath-feel to it that affects me just by listening to it.

Never heard of it.
Strife was a retail mod? I didn't even know about that. As far as I knew it was a vanilla freeware game that happened to have "something" that reminded me of Doom. (at the time I didn't even know what an engine was)
I always wanted to try a Doom level editor, but I never found one. I had lots of fun with the Wolfenstein3D editor.

That reminds me, the first game mod I ever played was a Doom mod called Strife. I thought it looked so much like Doom... yet so little... I didn't quite learn what a mod was until years later. Only then I knew Strife was a mod.

Mix, your long hair pic is SO 70s! I used to have my hair like that... I miss it. I had to cut it much shorter since it started to fall off, or it would look ridiculous.
I think this is fantastic. Whether you came up with this yourself or is aggregate information from different sources, it's amazing that this can be done. I used to think the "align to view" option was completely useless.

It's about exactly what I imagined it would be, but with actual implementation details. I actually learned some things (even about info_target which I used to think was a pretty much useless entity).

Striker, they didn't chop off his everything. They just turned off the seed factory, everything else remains the same. His network transmits empty data packets, they didn't remove the network card completely, so to speak.

I had to do some pool-side jobs myself. BUT, I managed to convince them that working with electrical equipment barefoot on a wet floor is not particularly safe, in addition to not being very cheap if I happen to slip and drop multi-thousand dollar equipment. So I got to keep my shoes on.
Looks like you had more fun though. Shame you didn't have a chair.
Thanks for the map and the christmas greetings! It took me a few days to play it but I finally did.
Very good map, considering the short timeframe it was conceived in. I experienced a number of odd glitches that I assume were due to EP1 not being installed too.
The good:
Good spatial arrangement for a small map Interesting puzzle + combat combination Clever solution to the exit... thing. Not spoiling.
The bad:
Some missing textures if you don't have EP1 too Pretty damn obscure puzzle elements including surprise dying Surprise enemies, pretty hard difficulty when they all come at you at the same time Not so good player space control (see below)
The both good and bad that balances out:
I managed to parkour all over the place and solve the first part of the puzzle in a nonstandard way. But I still had to do all of it in order to get to the exit.

all the complaints stem from the fact that people refuse to accustom with the new start menu
It's not just "a new start menu". They also moved the shutdown button and some other things to a different menu that pops up somewhere else on the screen.
including task manager which is now at a right-click distance.
It has been at right-click distance since XP or maybe even 2000.
[edit] reading rufee's comment again, I'm going with 21.
/me waits for Archie to show up

Just a few days ago I realised that's a screencap from American Psycho. Where did that come from?

They're not hard though, just sit down and look at them and you'll realise it's simpler than it may seem.

...fuck.
Also, I haven't seen a TV with integrated DVD player (or VHS) in like forever.
