Wouldn't mind if you registered through my link :).

Arduino is great!
I learned how to make a led blink, then I applied the procedure for more leds to flash them rapidly. It was like Christmas lights on steroids.
Then I made a RGB led change colour when selecting a color channel with a button and adjusting it with a potentiometer.

Today I made an EMF detector. No phantoms though :)). The most intense EMF I detected was near the TV. It was cool to let the detector near a cellphone, and when calling that cellphone the LED started blinking.

Oh well... it's fun but the problem is that I'm short on some basic materials like transistors ( to isolate the logic circuit from controlling a motor for example). I have some transistors but they only support 100 mA. I need something above 500 mA for small DC motors or running a HDD disk.

Dear TWHLers,

Have you heard about Qwiki?

It's basically Google+Wikipedia+Speech Engine. Remember how the people from Wall-E read info on their computers?
Qwiki is almost the same.

On another note, I just ordered an Arduino Starter Kit, with the new Arduino UNO. At last, I was waiting to buy one for over a year. I am very enthusiastic about it and I just can't wait!
Maybe one day I'll be able to construct one of these: 8x8x8 Led cube
Of course, until then I will be happy if I succeed with a 3x3x3 one as an 8x8x8 needs 512 leds...

World of programmable microchips, here I come !! :D

Well, I am testing the livestream too.

Watch me mapping and whatnot here! :D.

So I was just wondering, when is Cat-Life actually going to appear?

I was browsing my collection of photos when I stumbled on this...

This is one of my 2 cats, and it died a week ago. We don't know why. It came back home after disappearing from the yard, and it didn't felt very good(I think it did eat something poisonous from somewhere). We gave her milk and put her in a warm place, but by morning it was dead.

The sad thing is that it was the one who always loved to sit on my shoulder, to stay near me, it always followed us and it was so cute and had that "innocent cat" face any time...

RIP cute kitty :(.

All this poetry stuff reminded me that a year ago I made a poetry generator in C++. It was nothing fancy really, and the poems made no sense( as in context, the words were arranged to express some kind of actions or something).
Its vocabulary had 4 separate "categories": one for a substantive, one for an adjective, one for a verb and another for an adverb. Adding more words would mean a more diversified poem. But out of lazyness I only threw in 200 words(50 per category).

The program could randomly pick a word from each category, making a 4 words per line, with 4 lines in total per... well I don't know the word in english and google translator gives me funny translations.

At this point in time I don't quite remember how I did it, but the program could check if the letters from the words that should rhyme match, else it should generate a random word again until they match(randomly).

Some generated lines were, oddly, funny. Most of it is shit though. Let me translate a group of 4 lines for you(the translation, of course, will not rhyme):

The gloomy laptop occupies proudly
Abandoned prune likes beautiful
The gloomy magazine opens with talent
The thin nose sleeps beautifully.

For some reason, if I input a too high number for the poem generation, it would crash.

Well, why did I write this? Maybe for inspiring others to do something better. Or because I like les cr?pes.

Also, odd things happen here at TWHL. For about a week there was no new journal post. Suddenly, journal spam.

3D without glasses

This has to be the most ridiculous approach of them all.

I know this sounds crazy, but what if we had a TWHL mapping podcast?

All right guys. Nice to meet you all.
If this happens, we are fucked.

Ok guys, please don't consider this journal spam. I am sorry to post so many jorunals in a short time span.

I had to replace my headset because of that stereo problem, now... my keyboard( Logitech Internet 350) begins to fail. I appreciate my keyboard, it resisted to a 4 year torture. Some keys are failing though. To my surprise, they're not the most used ones(the A-Z keys). But the arrow keys.. which are somewhat equally important. Right now, as an up arrow sits the "del." key from the numpad, because the up arrow key has failed.
Now the right arrow is failing! And the backspace remains blocked sometimes.

The problem is that I am very used to this keyboard now and I am afraid of changing it. My friends have shitty keyboards, so I can't test a high-quality one at somebody, that's why I am asking you. I found though the wireless version of this one, which is twice as expensive. It's the Logitech Pro 2000 Cordless Keyboard.

My question is this: should I buy the same model, or should I buy the cordless one?

Do you have other good suggestions in the approximately same price range?
Remember, I don't like fancy keyboards with a ton of stupid buttons. I like them to be stylish, with as few extra buttons as possible, but they have to be useful(on my keyboard I never use the play\pause, volume or email buttons, but I very often use the computer, home page or mute). I saw some keyboards that are illuminated, but I'm skeptical to the typing feeling(that's why I am afraid of changing my keyboard). There are also keyboards with a scroll for the volume- I accept suggestions of keyboards with this type of extra-controls, but I actually used a keyboard with a scroll-volume at school. The scroll is absolute shit. So yeah, you know what I mean.
Oh, and btw, noticed the layout on these 2 keyboards? I like it that way. Every other layout is, again, absolute shit.

Thanks to anyone who can spare their time for some advice.

Today I received my new headset: Plantronics Gamecom 367.
It's probably not what I expected( we always expect for the best when we should expect for the less heh?), but it's surely a lot better then my old 5$ headset. Even though I never touched something like, let's say, Senheiser, I can feel there is still more to improve on the sound quality.

They're really nice though and comfortable (big ear cups and evenly distributed pressure). They have a "noise cancelling" microphone, although the noise canceling part isn't working quite well. But the microphone does, and it's good quality. It's also nice I can hide it in the headset when I don't need it, and it's quite flexible too.

I've only been listening to them for 2-3 hours, but I declare myself satisfied for the amount of money I paid. On some music tracks I increased the bass a little bit just to see how it feels. You know how it feels? Ear massage. And if ear massage happens at entry level headsets, then at something like Senheiser it must be Eargasm :).

Hey, at least I have stereo sound now, which is quite important in gameplay... (yes, the old ones I had to re-solder some wires and somehow they only worked in mono, so yeah...).
