How active are all of you guys? I'm just wondering since last week I started running twice a day, further every two days.
I just took a glance through my games library, and it kinda made me think. The fact I've already pumped 123 hours into Terraria suprised me, since I only got it about a month ago. I wanted to compare it to something else I consider my many hours well-wasted on. I looked at Mount & Blade, and saw it only had 131 hours on it. This was kinda odd to me, seeing as I've had it for at least 2 years now. Yet it has felt like I've played Mount & Blade so much more, and Terraria so much less.
I looked through several other games that I thought I'd pumped quite a lot of time into (games like Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers and Burnout Paradise), and found they only came out to 45 and 38 hours, respectively. I honestly thought I would've played Burnout more than MtG, but I guess not.
Plants VS Zombies holds a rather honourable 161 hours, and that's because it's damn fun. I wasn't really suprised by this number, especially when other people have played it occationally. Puzzle Quest holds a whopping 224 hours, but if it were solely my hours, it'd be closer to 10, maybe.
I was kinda shocked to find it'd put 215 hours into Left 4 Dead. I guess I did used to play it every afternoon after school with a friend at one point.
I also looked at the achievements, and it's safe to say how many achievements you have is completely unindicitive of how much you play a game. In L4D (215 h), I've only gotten 61 of the 73 achievements. meanwhile in Portal (10 h), I've gotten them all. I'd probably have all of Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter's (24 h) if most of them weren't solely Multiplayer ones. I still hold that achievement are far from an indication of skill in a particular game, unless you get all of them, in which case it remains unindicitive of skill, and becomes an indication of how much time you have to blow.

New video card as of Friday, due to the last one sh*tting itself. Not sure what it is, I didn't buy it. Though I do recollect some things along the lines of AMD Radeon 6800, or something along those lines.
Whether or not that's considered good, first time I loaded up L4D, I was suprised at how smooth it was playing 'til I remembered that there was a new video card at all.

Was driving around with Mum yesterday (I have my L's, FYI). Was going to turn right off of a road (indicators on for plenty of warning), and as I was turning the people in the car behind me decided to try and overtake.
No one got hurt, which I suppose is the main thing. Not a great confidence booster for such a new driver, though.
Alright... here's the story.
Around a couple of months ago, I was annoyed to find the computer would not start up properly one morning. The computer made an unusual beeping noise near the start, and the monitor remained blank (I was aware that the beeping meant something, I just didn't know what). I checked the cords, and knew that they weren't the problem (the screen showed a different message when it was unplugged to when it just wasn't working). After a short while, it became apparent that while the monitor was not functioning, the computer was still turning on. So I turned it off and back on again a few times, just to make sure. Then I went to do something else. That afternoon, I found the computer was working again. No-one had done anything, and it seemed ok then.
Over the next few weeks, every now and then it would do it again, leaving me and my parents (it was their computer) no choice but to wait it out.
Then one weekend my brother came over, and when the computer screwed up again, he had a look at it. He knows far more about this stuff. He found the manual for the motherboard (after some searching), and told me that the beeping meant there was a problem with the video card. He got into the case and swapped the slot the video card was in (or so he says, i wasn't watching). It seemed to do the trick, as for the next month or so there was no problem again.
Then, a few days ago, as I was playing Serious Sam HD, the game froze up for a second, then the monitor dropped out, in the same way it wasn't working before. The sounds still playing where subtly stopping. So naturally, I turned the computer off and on again. It did the beeping jank again.
After a little bit I found that it only seemed to stop working after a couple of minutes playing Serious Sam. Nothing else had ever made it drop out while I was actually doing something. I also found it strange that it didn't do that before, as by the time it started to drop out, I had just about finished the game. It didn't seem to matter where I was or what I was doing, it just dropped out randomly.
Now we come to about an hour ago. I was bored, and decided to play Titan Quest. After about two minutes, the game dropped out. This was unexpected. So again, I turned it off and on again. Then, to my shock and annoyance, the computer started up... at about 800x600 resolution. I head into control panel, display, and tried to put the resolution back up. It appeared to do absolutely nothing. Confused, I closed everything again, and then a message comes up saying that "there is no graphics driver installed, or it is not working properly", or something like that. I decided to install some (possibly) newer drivers (not something I've done before), and restarted the computer. It seemed to do the trick.
So when it started up again at the right resolution, as if nothing had happened, I typed this up because this computer is really starting to get on my nerves, and I'm really pissed off.
Tl;dr? Computer has started f**king itself in the ear when I try to play Serious Sam HD for more'n a few minutes. It majorly screwed itself an hour ago, I fixed it, not sure if I want to tempt fate by booting up the game again.

I've been re-reading the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett.
He's a really good author, one of the few I would actually go out of my way to get books by. I like the sense of humour he shows through his writing. I recommend this series for those of you who like fanatasy and/or humorous books.

I've been re-playing Red Alert and a few other somewhat aged games recently.
Replaying older games makes you remember the simplicity most of them had back then. Whether that's a good thing or not differs between games, but sometimes it's good just to play something that you don't need to think about as much.

Okay, so it's been a few months. I really havent gotten a whole lot better with my guitar. I'm starting to think that if I dont get lessons, I won't get much better with this thing.
I probably missed out on a few of the basics by teaching myself, too.

Oh shit, I don't know. I've been messing around with this guitar for a week and a bit now, and I have no idea how quickly I should be progressing. Still, I suppose it doesn't really matter, there's plenty of time.
While I'm at it, I might as well say what I've gotten decent at. I can sorta play:
Blink 182 - Dammit (only the intro part that's played a fair bit in the song)
Blink 182 - Adam's Song (again, only the intro part)
Metallica - One (I know a part in the middle of that one though)
Iron Maiden - Fear Of The Dark (the intro)
Linkin Park - No More Sorrow (intro again. I should sometime learn a song completely)
I also can decently play Bloody Tears (that music in a few of the Castlevania games) and the main theme of Morrowind (except it has a few notes on frets higher than my guitar even has)...
EDIT: Found better tabs for that Morrowind one, no note troubles now.
