Well, I have been away from the forum for a long long time, but I think I will be back alot more, Ive just started back mapping. I have a lot of catching up to do. I have one map nearing completion, and one of my older projects to revamp. SO, be on the look out for maps from this guy.

I have hit a big damn writers block on this map.....I hate when that happens, quite the set back.....I think it will be knocked down sooner than later though, so all is well....I got the kitchen, the bathrooms, and the quaters finished.....looks pretty good. The wallas are still pretty plain, and that sucks...have to figure something out for them. I was really upset about my dining room painting not wanting to work...I have to figure that out, its key to that room....more to come.....

new project is running smooth as silk......fountain gave me a little problem, but nothing major....fixed it, and its awsome now.. Doing some serious thinking about the catocombs, not sure exactly how I wanna do those, Im sure it will come to me. :)

The new map project is ASS KICKING! I am becoming very pleased with this one.....I think its going to really be something...so far, no huge problems.....my biggest problem was a error with a texture with bad extents....turned out to be a small texture that I didnt mind not using....lol :cool:

Have decided to take a break from this map and start another idea I have been thinking about....already have the main structure down, as well as some details about said structure. The map will envolve heavy rain, thunder, lightening.....your basic severe thunder storm. I will have to create a custom sky for this map due to the violent nature of the weather conditions. No sky that half-life includes is good for stormy weather other than black, and Im not keen on being so dull......more to come.

Total let down, I didnt figure out the lighting problem yet....Most can have as many as four lights shining on a single surface, i can only seem to have 3....total bummer. But I do beleive I will solove his problem....in time. :|

well, I think I may have figured out the lighting problem, wont know for a bit, the map is compiling as this entry is being written.....The thing was, my map is a model of my house, I have a basemanet in my house, so, my map has a basement.....the lights from the livingroom were somehow shining through the floor (even though they did not light the basement even in the slightest) so, I selected each wall, floor, and ceiling of the house, and tied it to the wall entity....I did this because of the ZHLT light flags, I can turn on Opaque (blocks light) and hopefully solve the problem.....we will see.....

HA! I fixed my fire, its great to....Put that burnt wall texture on the insides of the logs in the cone, and on the logs inside the cone sitting on the ground....I added a textlight, and aimed it for the burned wall texture, selected flicker A for the style, 100 for the brightness, obvioulsy the color was orange, used the flame 2 sprite, and BOOM! Kick ass fire...I might write a tutorial for it

well, My Map is starting to anger me :x Although it has angered me before....neither here nor there...This whole lights thing is getting me down....the whole cant have to many lights in one area thing blows...what was valve thinking?Thats just one of many probs....the other is, seems that I cant get one of my turret guns to shoot in the right direction, go to shoot it, and it shoots you....not good. And one other prob I am faced with now is a bonfire I tried creating, would set my map off...really would, but the sprite I used (fire) has black al around the fire, which does not look cool. let me tell yeah.
