Well, I've finally got the problem sorted - my RAM is bsaically dying so I need new sticks to get Hammer up and runnning again.... Im gonna get 2 or maybe 3gig - we shall see.
Atm, Im installing Steam on my laptop to see if I can use Hammer on here.
So now I have a change in things. Carentan is going to have to wait Im afraid. It's too bigger project to do on this little machine so instead I'm going to produce a mini map on the slums of Mexico City... if Hammer runs

Because of continuous problems with my PC, as of Friday I've stopped mapping and shall also probably stop coming here until I have all problems solved. Having to start Carentan 3 friggin' times is crappy so before I start again I want to make sure that my PC won't hiccup and frazzle out.

Crappy HDD! Died on me 3 days ago along with my Carentan map!! So p*ssed off right about now... gotta start Carentan all over again but I suppose it's ok as I now know exactly what to build and what not to build - kind of like trial and error?
But anyway, at the moment I'm downloading HL2, HL2DM, DoD:S and CS:S then I can get Source SDK again and start mapping. New 320gig SATA II HDD

Carentan Diary
Yawn... it's like 1.21am right now and I have frigging college tomorrow but my Carentan map is too addictive to leave for tonight/morning - so I'm going to stay up a bit longer and fiddle around with a building structure.... so yeah, the map is coming along well now with the Axis spawn point and surrounding area complete. Next is to finish off the linking garden from a hotel to one of the main roads in Carentan, should be interesting... anywho, I'm dead now

I'm new here but see that a lot of people have atleast one entry in their journal... so I want one too
At the moment I'm mapping one of my own plans for DoD: Source. The map is a segment of Carentan where the 506th managed to defeat some Germans and secure St-Come-du-Mont.
I've basically completed the German spawn area and now I'm working on the surrounding alleys and gardens that join up the main routes.... I'll show some screenshots once I've placed some lighting effects in the map!
