Strider StriderTuned to a dead channel.
"Popped" my kneecap this morning. The kneecap shifted out of it's socket and back in quickly, grinding some of the cartlidge. It's happened to me far too many times in the last 3 or 4 years. Hurts like hell when it happens but it's given me a day or so off work, so it's not all bad. :>

Sounds like it was fun. I've got something wrong with my kneecap, although I don't know what. All I know is that occasionally when I have to kneel down it feels like a tendon is being ripped out.

Sounds nasty. Makes me glad I'm normal and stuff.

Sounds like a combo breaker if it gets you out of work.

I "crack" my kneecaps all the time, but it's on purpose.

As far as leg injuries go, there's far worse, but it's still no fun. The patella slides out one way or another taking some cartlidge with it. Some fluids build up and the knee gets swollen and painful to bend (couple of days of painkiller/anti-inflammatory pills will do the trick).

For the lucky people (like me) the kneecap slides back in, for the unlucky people it stays out (Trapt did it a short while ago, he told me). If it gets really frequent and painful, there's surgery available to shorten tendons or somesuch.. bugger that.

Yeah, I've completely dislocated my kneecap twice. Once five years ago when I was only 12 and again about 5 weeks ago. Mine goes out and stays out until the leg is straightened out which is pretty much impossible to do without someone else doing it. It also hurts like hell.

Needed a knee brace and crutches for 3 weeks or so, and am now doing a shitload of intensive physio so it doesn't happen again. It probably will though, according to every doctor, surgeon and physio I've seen.

Heh, yeah the doctor I had said that (with almost everybody that suffers this) short of having the surgery anything you do is, at best, a stall for it happening again. Which is better then nothing, I suppose.
