Wave 1

YouTube and Warner Music Group have really rubbed me the wrong way as of late. Muting an entire video because it contains 10 seconds of music is the most fucking ridiculous thing I have ever heard. OK, so an entire song I can understand even though my crappy GMOD music videos are still up. However my Santa's Revenge Review for Mod of the Month contained no more than 20 seconds of the track "12 Pains of Christmas," a god awful song by some god awful artist nobody had ever heard of yet WMG saw fit to mute it for this very reason. Never mind the fact that the rest of the video took a week or so to prepare and put together and that the artists were all credited accordingly.

If they had sent a message and told me, then I would have gladly downloaded the movie, altered the 20 seconds of footage and then uploaded it with a different track. But no, the vid was muted without my knowing and I no longer have the files to fix the issue. So, my Santa's revenge review is silent, making it overall pointless.

Warner Music can choke on a cock.

same thing happened to me with a project i made from school. here's what i did: after a lot of messing around i found out that the original video with the original sound will play if you click to add one of the existed youtube soundtracks. you can preview the video without a song and it will play your sound. so play it and get a program to record the audio then just download the youtube video and re-edit quick and youre good to go

They got me way back with my JKA vid. That was the first time I heard about it and it worried me.

What I find strange is that they somehow found out I used 10 seconds of a song right at the end. The video is about 10 mins + and the song was right at the end so did they pay staff to watch shitty videos and look out for songs?

You just implied that both yours and Urby's videos are shitty :D

Well not Urby's but a JKA vid of me and Hunter fighting with added sound effects is silly and I don't care ;D

They probably have software which goes through Youtube videos and try to identify the music.

And Yodalman, it doesn't work because you can't put images in journal comments.
