Just found a comp in the trash, turns out to be a L500cx
It's got about 500 mhz processer, 320 mbs of ram, a onboard video card that seems to be pretty powerful, and a 10 gig hd.
Oh and it also has windoze xp on it (kinda chokes with only 320 mbs ram :S)
I don't plan on doing it for "serious gaming", just a comp to play counter-strike in my room at night, and it seems to be doing a pretty good job of it.
It also came with a microsoft mouse identical to the one i am using right now, and 2 speakers.
Who would throw out something like that, it works perfectly, and it also has a cd burner\writer in it.

I work on computers like this one every day at school. We clean them all up with new OS's and free apps and send 'em out to poor families. All the old W2k machines have 256MB of RAM, and they run plenty fast.
If you don't have your own computer already, good for you I guess. Me, I have two computers in my room alone, but it's kinda pointless since I just end up using my main one all the time.
I'd watch dvds all night on my dvd player, but there really isn't any dvd's that we haven't watched a gazillion times :S
I think I might see what I can find in peoples garbage.
They are those bins that have the two holes on the sides, the garbage trucks pick them up with 2 rods.
'it's a couple of those big metal bins (donno what they are called :S)' Dumpster.
And i wasn't actually taking out the trash really, people throw a lot of good stuff out, my dad found a couple of lamps and some tv's ect ect, but nothing like this.
