My issue isn't when you started, but when the law says that you can. It seems like a fundamentally bad idea for the legal driving age to coincide with the legal drinking age, regardless of when you or any other specific individual actually started doing either.

Obsolete. I illegally started driving at about 12 =)). (practice driving on non-public roads of course, but it's still illegal).
