Are you alone at home? Because when I'm alone at home, even though I can go to sleep well, I often wake up at 5 or 6 a.m. from no reason. It's strange, and it only happens when I'm alone at home.

That sounds pretty much exactly like me. I've got to take medication for it to try and fix the problem, as it was the main cause of me failing my first year of uni.

You should do something tiering before you go to sleep, like exercises, and If you wake up in the middle of the night, don't try to sleep again if you know you wont be able to. Get up, make some tea, watch tv get tired again and try going back to sleep. Helps me when I can't sleep or whem I'm ill.

Stay up all night for a few days, and see if that helps you sleep. But it may be dangerous, as sleep is important for your body and mind to function properly. Maybe see your doctor first?

How can you do that? I never get enough sleep. Even if I wake and I think I'm ready to get out of bed, I immediately fall back asleep for another hour or two. I couldn't finish today's homework because of that

I take allergy medication before I go to bed and that gets me to sleep to boot.
But one thing from above I can NOT recommend is exercise right before bed. Exercising may be tiring at first, but in the long run gets you jumpy and energetic. Exercise in the morning or afternoon, and then keep busy the rest of the day.

@TJB: You deserve a slap for doing that.
