I got a fever, and the only prescription is more Minecraft.
I got my new laptop which I'm very pleased with, it runs Source games unlike my old one which ran Goldsource at about 30 fps. So I decided to buy Minecraft after hearing so much about it and now I'm hooked. Right when I think I've run out of ideas for things to do I discover a huge cave system or build a network of bridges in between a whole chain of islands. Another that comes with my new laptop is mapping again, I can't wait to start up again. In terms of HL 1997 I'm awaiting orders of what to map so I might recreate another Metroid Prime Hunters map while I wait.
PS anyone know how to make a bounce thing without the actual bouncer, alien, plant thing
After building an underwater biodome, I just began getting frustrated at having to deal with the shitload of mobs that seemed to be coming endlessly from this mammoth cave that I STILL never could finish completely lighting with torches after a week of exploring.
I quit after I backpedaled into a 1x1 square of lava, losing all my diamond equipment and, of course, everything that I mined.
I'll wait to see what newer versions bring. As of right now, I'd rather just build a Goldsrc map.
Also, there's no practical point for going into the Nether. I thought maybe it would be a good source for cooked pork, but then all the pig people attack you forever if you attack one of them.
Its fun, i try to play every update in a new world, but its always the same - spwan, get wood, get coal, make torches, digdigdigdigdig for diamond... now what.
Then you spend another few hours hording iron to make minecraft paths between all your mines and your home base. Then you get killed and pissed off and you start over.
all-in-all i find the game pretty pointless, but MANY MANY people like it so different strokes i guess.. LOL
