I support Gay and Lesbian marriage. And I'm straight, fuck the haters. Two people love each other, Who the Fuck are you to deny them their god given right to marry.

Also making this journal at this time probably wasn't the greatest idea because with the whole Joebama avatar fiasco, the meaning of Joebama's avatar in it gets diminished.

Nothing wrong with same-sex couples. It worries me that anyone in the Western world is still in the dark ages regarding sexuality.

Sadly many people here are.

If you're looking to find bigots to argue with, you probably won't have much luck here :P. Most people here are of average intelligence or above it, and have pretty good heads on their shoulders. Personally, I love telling people that they need to learn another adjective or two when "gay" seems to be the only one they know. I even make suggestions sometimes. Much bigger words that actually mean "stupid".

And when I hear someone call someone else a fag, sometimes I ask why they don't call them a nigger too. The best thing ever was when one time a kid at work responded with "because I'd get stabbed!" and so I said "Oh, so let me get this straight- what you're telling me is that if I want you to stop saying fag that I should STAB you? That's what you're saying???"

That shut him right up, lol!

Joke aside, I don't care. Even if it were "wrong", it's their problem. I could see the reason if it was a genuinely damaging issue, but it doesn't do any harm at all so I don't see why anybody should care anyway.

Also I'm not into the "because God doesn't like it" (or Jesus or whomever) justifications used by ignorants.

Anyone who seriously thinks the bible condemns homosexuality needs to learn to read. That's like saying the bible supports murdering children so they don't usurp your throne. Sure, some king said it. Doesn't make it God's will.

That said, it's not really a choice, afaik. You don't choose who you fall in love with, etc. If someone's making a conscious choice to "be gay", they're either faking or bisexual.

Anyway, yeah, I'm pretty sure most of the regulars here are pretty live and let live. Some of my best friends are gay (or at least bi).

It can be. There is nowhere in the US where everyone is of one mindset, obviously. For example, Texas in general is incredibly conservative and religious, but the city of Austin from what I hear is very open minded. Drive five minutes out of it and it's a whole 'nother ball game.

We have a swear jar at work for this purpose. There is a lot of money in that jar, and it's mostly from people saying that work they have to do is "gay". =)

As for parties, I wouldn't go to one anyways. I don't enjoy watching stupid people doing stupid things, which is what many parties consist of because of alchohol.
