*LIVE FROM NEW YORK CITY!*Hi all TWHLers! I've just read your comments in my
last journal. Here's a small update.
Here I am, broadcasting live from New York City itself. In a few hours, I believe our friend Tetsu0 will be arriving and will probably join me for breakfast tomorrow.
To those who said there's a public computer in every corner: I don't know which way to look when I get to a corner, because I haven't seen any. Even working payphones are hard to find (fortunately there are a lot more in NYC than in FL). But, amongst a few other things, I got me
this beauty on monday. Haven't had much time to use it, but I have some time in between walks now that my father went away to do the laundry. So, HI!
To Captain Terror: No, I have nothing but a seven year old desktop at home. But I found a pretty good notebook for a very good price so I am no longer computerless.
So yeah. Just stopped by to say hi. Half past five here in the US and I'm already so tired I want to sleep right now. I'm having a pretty good time despite some inconveniences I will detail later. Will stay in NYC until sunday. Then I'll be somewhere upstate for a few days. I'll be back home next thursday with a full account of my adventure including pictures (not featuring me).
We gotta get ZombieLoffe's ass over to the US for a week some summer so Srry and I can fly down to nickle's and we can all party. I'm sure anyone else is welcome, it happens every summer, plenty of space in the new house I hear. It'll be my first time due to money restraints in the past.
Can't wait to meet Another TWHLer in person!!
@X-layer: I thought it was pretty new. It wasn't even in Acer's catalogue until a few weeks ago. In any case, it's pretty good, especially compared to the seven year old desktop I have at home.
I'm just wondering... what's the feeling of being surrounded by tall buildings of cold cement?
I don't know really. I've always lived in a city so it's not something I really thought about. They are taller here, but it's not VERY different.
What I can tell you is that everything you see in the movies is true. The seas of yellow taxis, the dirty metro, the police sirens constantly in the background. All of it is true.
He might have meant other than himself.
@Cap'n: We were at a store earlier today and this very aggressive woman came in demanding we "buy her something to eat". Store owners were telling her to leave but my father still gave her a $1 bill. Had a bad day and that only pissed me off more.
Plus my phone died at dinner.
Ugh
Also, how similar is it to Liberty City?
I am now sitting at my father's friend's living room in Ardsley, NY. Big house, beautiful neighbourhood in a foresty area with lots of wildlife roaming the back yard. And it's just a half hour drive away from Manhattan. Full update after thursday.
