You guys are gonna love this shit.
I donated $5 to the humble bundle to get some games, preferably Sims 3. To confirm my banking info, the ghost charge the amount on my account. Basically charging then cancelling. Today, they charged outright, which I didn't have $5 so I overdrawn and was charged $35 by my bank. Essentially I paid $40 for a $20 game. An EA game nonetheless.
I want to start a fire.
Know your banking man.
Lemme try again. I wasn't super clear on things.
1: Donated $5 for Sims3. Worthit.
2: $5 pended on my statement but was cancelled. It was the charity's way of confirming legitimacy.
3: I spent all of the my money on rent so I had $0.83 left in my bank.
4: Donation finalizes and goes through, charging me $5 I don't have.
5: Bank charges me $35 in overdraft penalties.

What the fuck?!
I'll happily stick with a debit card even after getting a job. That's just nasty man!
They're used like credit cards but instead of payments, the money is subtracted straight from your bank. If you don't have the funds, you're penalized.
Sorry to hear Rim, overdraft fees SUCK!
Your card won't be declined all the time.
And sometimes there's pending transactions that all don't clear at the same time. So if there's money in there, it'll be pending... say something else clears before a big expense and there's not enough money in there.. - BAM overdraft.
I keep at LEAST $500 in my debit acct at all times. I got hit with a bunch of overdrafts in the past.
"You've spent money you don't have! As a punishment, we're going to charge you more money."
That sucks though Rim.
Upon looking at the dates, there was a span of only 5 hours between having the money and the paycheck I got after that. Impeccable timing >:[
