Okay so i made my first map for counter strike source, have the tools/options thing filled out. I have a the ct and t spawn points set, ive tried it with and without player spawn points and everything is inside of a hollow cube and ive tried it without the hollow cube also but when i try to run it using f9 counter strike source launches but nothing else happens then when i try to create a game using the map it wont even start to load the main menu will just come back up. Ive also tried what alot of tutorials menchioned doing when starting out, creating a floor, walls and a ceiling, start points then starting the game using that simple map and that also had the same result. In your hammer setup, where you have

$SteamUserDir

in all the paths.

Try replacing that with the actual full path.

whenever i write in the full path it sets it to $steamuserdir. I just did what you said anyhow and checked it again and everything was set back to as it was in the screenshot.

yeah you're right. I'd never gone in there myself since setting it up so I'd not noticed that it changed it back.

I'm afraid you're going to have to be a little more specific about your problem then -- because frankly your first post is almost entirely gibberish.

Good news, It turns out i had the wrong directory to save the files lol.. I didnt even have it in counter strike it was just some source file. I got it to run but for some reason when i try to join a team it says that both teams are full, i have spawn points. How can i fix this?

if you upload the map to the problem vault I will take a look at it for you

place a regular player start in there.

Sounds as though your CT or T spawn is intersecting into the ground. Move them all up above the floor.

Do you just need the bsp file or bsp, vmf, vmx?
