I recently restored my entire PC, to get rid of all the rubbish that was on it. Before the restore I had Hammer 3.5 and the HL model support .FGD installed, and it worked. Now I have reinstalled Hammer 3.5 and the model support .FGD. For some reason the models still are just blue blocks, and I can't seem to fix it. :( The .FGD I'm using is called halflife.FGD and I got it off of the VERC site. Does anyone know why this might not be working? Thanks :D

You need to unpack the models to sierravalvemodels from PAK0.PAK (and PAK1.PAK if you have the high-def pack) using Wally.

No, VERC tells you how to rewrite it but I tried rewriting it and ended up with a custom model option that doesn't work.

I use Hammer 3.4. It is much more stable. Who really cares about model-support cos i never needed to use it!

i use hammer 3.5 and i've had no problems - not even a slight crash when modifying vertexes...

When you download version 3.5, is it an update or will i have to configure it? and is it worth it? any bugs? slow? same as hammer 3.4? thats all, hehe. :badass:

Get it from the VERC.

Version 3.5 is merely a new .exe file that replaces the old .exe file in the Hammer folder. Once you've unzipped the models (Pak Explorer works quite well) and attained the updated fgd you can view all the models in Hammer. This is quite useful for scaling the map to suit the player and also to position certain models (i.e. Sitting scientists).
