I'm working on a Counter-Strike 1.6 map, which is in dire need of some resources. Here's what I'm looking for:
  • A wrecked car or truck model (old, russian, like ones in the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R)
  • A model of XJ9 (can't quite tell what that is; look it up for me?)
  • A model of Alma (a girl character in the game F.E.A.R).
  • House/chateau (hint hint) ruin textures. Anything old-looking.
Could you please do all the google searching for me?

Threads merged. Don't spam the forum with multiple threads next time please. Keep it all in one. - Daub

For the textures, the Wadfather should be your one-stop resource if you can't make your own:
http://wadfather.planethalflife.gamespy.com/new/index.php?sid=9a6520492d9acf6d3caad0176e8a7e31&debug=wadinidebug&indexType=3&nI2=0&tI2=1&tTX=0&tGM=0&tST=0&tSC=1&tTH=0&xRW=100&xOP=1

For Alma, someone ported the model from FEAR as a Garry's Mod prop. It does not have animations because it is a ragdoll, but it is better than nothing: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=17877
^This is a source model. You will have to port it to Goldsrc yourself.

The two above I just remembered off the top of my head. For the truck; there are tons of props out there. They aren't hard to find.

Did he spell that stuff himself or did someone do it for him when they merged the thread? I've never seen him type like that.

I don't know what an XJ9 is, I googled it and I got a cartoon?

Why? What's wrong with you doing it?

Also, are you willing to pay for the right models you are looking for, or just looking for freebie ones?

Theres models you have to PAY for? That is the most stupid thing ive ever heard. Better to learn and make them yourself.

On sale!!: generic crate model, only 3 easy payments of 29.99 after mail in rebate.

Isn't an XJ9 a Jaguar?

xj9 is a carton movie. a robot girl
Posted 16 years ago2008-09-15 22:50:48 UTC Post #255493
But at the same time it is a Jaguar...
why would you want a cartoon robot over a Jaguar?
Posted 16 years ago2008-09-16 00:49:50 UTC Post #255496
maybe it's that well-known transformer robot girl who changes into a jaguar?

As stupid as it might sound, buying and selling 3d models is actually a very big, lucrative business online. In fact, I myself sold a collection of 5 custom made, animated VRML avatars burned on a cd-rom on eBay about 3 years ago, for $24.95 including shipping. To further make my point and prove to you that selling 3d models is not really out of the ordinary, here is a tiny list of some commercial 3d model retailers:

www.3d02.com/main/home_01.asp

www.top3d.net

www.3-d-models.com (Prices are in British pounds)

www.3dexport.com

www.turbosquid.com (perhaps the biggest one of all)

I see through your lies and unveil your devilish political agenda to make everyone conform to the Euro.

Really though, ? is not €

Edit:
Well, TWHL wont let me post the Euro symbol as a character User posted image

.. 100$? I'll be damned.
Well, what you expect? Some people have no shame. Anyway, for that price, that model character better be animated and do hoola-hoops.
