i was considering making a texture out of a google earth photo of my neighborhood, (adjusting it as needed) and using it to draw the layout of my map.

My only question is, does anyone have any idea how accurate the scale is? For example, using the "scale legend" in the lower right of the map, my front yard is about 120' wide. In hammer tho, it's closer to 200'.

I guess i could just go outside and measure it, right!?

How exactly did you determine the scale within Hammer? How did you measure it? How did you build it? Also, that's a huge difference - 40m wide vs. 70m wide is way too much to ignore. Which one do you think is closer to the actual distance?

Yeah, go out and measure it, it will definitely help.

I just eyed everything up to see what "felt" right, if you know what i mean. As far as determining the scale, you know you can set the units in hammer 4 to inches/feet, right?

I have to steal a big tape measure from work now so i can measure my yard.

No I don't. I don't have Hammer 4.
