K, so this archive has a folder named "spirit" and 4 dlls. I should extract the contents to my Half-Life directory right? Two of the dlls are already in that directory; should I override them? and should I make backups of the old ones first? Thc for halp

put the entire folder in your Half-Life folder. restart steam and the spirit should appear in your steam library. the spirit.dll should be in the folder half-life/spirit/dlls
the client.dll should be in the half-life/spirit/cl_dlls

anyway are you trying to map for spirit? you need spirit.fgd for hammer to recognize spirit-related stuff

If you're running WON, you will want to update your half life to latest version before you install SOHL, otherwise you'll get a 'Your executable has been modified' error and you will have to reinstall and do the same procedure anyways.

EDIT: Apparently deleting 'halflife.dat' might remedy this error [For any type of modifications] but I'm unsure. You're seriously better off updating.

Spirit should be treated as a mod, not an update. It comes with a folder of additional files which you may need to replace standard HL ones.

You'll need Steam HL or the latest version of WON half-life to run it properly.
