Small movie i made of how glorious i died when protecting the airspace above my base against 4 hostile airplanes.

EFS_A8_Frozer is the guy whom actualy hit me, i flew with him serval times, as enemy and as wingman, so we both know what we can expect from eachoter, we once had a battle of 10 minutes with changing advantages. i was in a p-39 and he in a fw-190.

But here is the movie, its small. Hope you like it!

um... changing the camera view made that movie horrible. And what game is that?
Posted 19 years ago2005-06-14 06:38:27 UTC Post #114314
Il-2 sturmovik forgotten battles, the camera is what i saw at the time of flying, obviously staying in the cockpit wasnt really a choice since the bullets flew around my tail.

Its me, getting shot by roughly 4 hostiles. Its Il-2 sturmovik forgotten battles, its a World War 2 Flight simulator featuring the easter front, murmansk, minsk, berlin ,stalingrad and many more. Now you say, te p-39 is a american plane, and yes it is. But they 'lend' these planes to the russians because they ran out of airplanes until the mass production of the Lagg-3 1941.

Its not really boring, but the new guys (-3 months flying experience) are flying bait for those whom know flying tactics, im a horrible shot in the air, but only shooting wiht as low deflection as possible i can usualy cripple there wings.

i already fly this since oktober 04, so i got quiet a lot experience in most of the planes. I also got a device for it called Track IR 3 Pro. It tracks my headmovement by using lasers, i can track the enemy from my cockpit wihtout the annoying padlock. I should receive the last expansion for this game wihtin 2 weeks, then i finaly can test out there new flight engine tey released.

For those of you whom wants to see some good quality movies go here:

http://www.darts-page.com/

The music is from Creedence Clearwater Revival : fortunate son. Seen in the Battlefield Vietnam trailer.

As you may notice this is one of my big hobby's. I read up daily on ACM and tactics, its important to analyzise every situation and know where the enemy is at all times. This is called SA(Situational Awareness). If one rookie doesnt have this you can sneak up on his tail, jump on him from a cloud and blow his wing or feul tank with one well aimed shot from your cannon, Though you rather want to be into convergence distance if you gotwing-mounted ones.

:)

The latest one is pacific fighters, i only need the aces expansion, then i got the whole series complete.

@7th, the original is from 2001, the standalone expansion are more expensive, but required for online play. though people like windhakw still host the original servers on ubi.com lobby.

it is an incredible multiplayer experience... Proper games use real WWII tactics and if one member fucks up, the rest of the team is dead.

I had a great game recently with a 5v5 dogfight in the MultiplayerSummerIslands 1 or whatever its called. my wingman woh was completely nooby at it decided to break formation and chase a rogue and damaged enemy... we lost the fight cos of him. i went down within 2 minutes without a wingman

Ah, i know that problem all to well, but when you go for it you got to go, no aborting then.

Pepper, I take it you like your planes, then? :D

Although not as practical, I'm sure pilots get way more women than say, people with Ferraris.

I've never been really into any kinds of vehicles tbh, I prefer walking, and see roads and all forms of transportation as something which actually LIMITS personal freedom. For example, sure you can travel across the world in a plane, or drive around your country in a car. But you have to pay taxes to do so. Walking is next to impossible now, you can't safely walk even as far as the next town, without dealing with traffic (which is fucking intimidating on foot).

Its a personal gripe of mine, and strangely the only person I've ever heard mention it as well was the Unabomber!

Aye, but dont combine it, because a pilot is always the first one to arrive at the crash site!

I downloaded a flying demo once, it was very weird because things didn't always work and I didn't realise lol that you could choose where to take off. So most of the action was like 50000 miles away and dumbass me flew all the way over there and it took me 2 hours :/ I ran out of fuel an hour before so I glided lol.

Go high, always reach a base level to have a stable ground to overlook activity and pick your target. What where you flying?
Posted 19 years ago2005-06-15 12:06:50 UTC Post #114567
I can't remember, there was a choice of hundreds of planes to choose from.

Only 3 jets and I think the game was called Ace Combat or something similar.

pah.. no flight sim compares to IL2 Sturmovik...

I had the German jet.. one of the ME-1 tests and i increased throttle too much on the take off burning out one engine before i had even started :P

anyhoo, got off the ground with 1 engine and was going about 20 knotts slower than my squadren (this is in single player.. the AI is pretty limited) and on this particular mission, the enemy comes up from behind so me, a few miles behind my team watch in horror as 14 German Spitfires bank out of the clouds just behind my squadron. When i finally arrive, there are 9 of them and 2 of us :S butchered.

ouch, i have quite an old flying sim, it doesnt do any combat but the challenges are cool. Try landing on a moving aircraft carrier far out in the sea with nasty winds and a crappy plane :P

Wait a sec, the germans never had any form of spitfire, they may have catured a mkII, but they never reporduced it. They though there 109's en 190's where superior.
Posted 19 years ago2005-06-15 12:50:20 UTC Post #114577
lol. it was a custom mission :) you can give the enemy different planes.

did you not wonder why my squadren was made of ME-1s? rofl
