de_ramses is indoor and outdoor map. you have to destroy obelisc's or ramses statue in the temple. you'll hear 3dmstart.wav when entering temple. custom textures are -wadincluded. thunders idea is copied from de_aztec. i've re-uploaded, so now map is brighter, new sand texture added (looks much better), and some architecture fixes.

nope, this not the same, just textures are. de_sphinx and de_ramses are different maps. they both still are in the map vault

Graphically it looks decent. Little too dark though...

As for the gameplay, I'm not really sure. The T's and CT's will arrive at the bomb spot at the statue at about the same time, but the one at the obeliscs is much further away for the T's. I think you should replace that bombspot so it equals more to the statue bomb-spot in distance for the T's.

I have play tested this map and 'ere are the comments:

Goodies:
-Good textures, average texturing.
-Palm trees.
-It's a real map!

Baddies:
-Too dark outside.(It's Egypt! It's mega brigth out there :D)
-Lame brushwork and architecture.
-Bad layout.
-Booriing!

Overall score: *** (Sorry, i would really liked to give this map 4 stars but it's so boring looking and stuff :/)

Pretty much same as the above, I tested it with jaardsi.

: those maps are mine! most of textures are from http://www.planetquake.com/simland/pages/tpegypt/wall.htm
there are evenings in egypt too, right? i dont like bright maps.i've tried to make architecture similar to egyptian, but how i see from your reply i have failed :(. could you show me an example of "not boring and good architecture" map?
Commented 20 years ago2004-04-29 00:21:11 UTC Comment #1738
Don't get me wrong, the archtitecture in some areas is really cool and egyptian, but in some areas it's just 2x walls with trims and maybe a some little boxes there and there.

IMO:
+Nice Architecture
+Texturing
+Lighting
-no sounds besides the torches, maybe some sand blowing in the wind?
