This is my fourth Source map - de_boshi has taken me 3 months and although I don't think it's my best work, it is a rather nice map and I wanted to get it out the way before I start other projects. It's set in an abandoned lab / warehouse with 2 bombsites. I believe it is more Terrorist friendly as they are quite near to bombsite B. It comes with a .nav for bots and is a rather small map. It should be played with a maximum of 10 and a minimum of 4. The architecture may seem slightly off. This map is dedicated to Adam Holt so have a great life from Will.
If I have time, I might go and get some screenshots of some things I disliked or want changed.
I agree on all those pointers and I don't see much point on improving it because it was yet another lesson. The future maps will adapt to those pointers and I think you were very fair.

It has a lot of really weird detail choices, too (valves sticking from walls?) and the physics lockers are ANNOYING UP THE ASS. You also are missing corner bits on all the angle architecture in the halls which makes it look lazily done, and yeah, the spotlight fx are whored. (You can do it with one yknow, but the beams don't even come out of fluros like that [even in really dark or dusty areas]).
And yeah. Weird prop choices and placement. Just seems like a random amalgam of various props stacked in piles around a room. Doesn't really fit the theme.
Texture selection is odd, too (I like the raincheck inspiration though ;D) - The thing about the texture set is that it needs a lot of architectural detail to look proper (or at least proper proppage) - Sometimes in the corridors the flat walls look a bit odd.
I'll give yah 3 1/2 as well, but since I'm nice and we don't have half-ratings, I'll award it 4.
+ The architecture is nice
+ I liked the use of sound -- ambient sound is something I haven't got to grips with yet very well.
+I like the layout also, it should be fun to play with others.
+The detail is good, I think it's a convincing recreation of the location you describe in the map introduction text.
- I did find the physics lockers strange - when I found them they were rocking back and forth of their own accord, which I thought was a bit wierd.
I've given it 5 stars as I would've given it 4.5 but as Rabidmonkey says we don't have half ratings.
I'd love to give this map a bash online. Any servers running it anywhere?

And by the way, that damn corridor really sucked. It seemed you didn't know what to put in it, so you put pipes and valves coming out of the walls, which shows lack of thought and resorting to models for detail.
And Dv8 - If you are looking for good custom source maps, I really recommend some of Rabids stuff.
Trapt I know I know I feel let down too! Next time I won't dissapoint.

Every new map teaches me something I didn't know in the past.
In this map I started using ambient_generics and created a much more realistic environment

It's made for the Nightfall mod which kicks ass! More ass than HL2!
However, I think there was little texture variation throughout the map, but it's not a big issue since it happens with dust and aztec.
The other strange thing I saw was the use of the cubemaps. It seems in one place you selected ONE cubemap and applied it to a whole bunch of faces, even though some were in hallways that had nothing to do with the lighting in the cubemap's room... I know this saves a lot of trouble with reflective surfaces, but it doesnt look quite right, what do you think?
