UPDATE: Now all cross-mod content is included,
to work for CS or HL.

Looking at screenshots of Kasperg's "Fallingwater"
inspired me to work on something residential. So
here it is, my_house.

"My house" is a bit of a misnomer, since this
doesn't resemble the house I live in, nor a house
I would like to live in. It's simply an amalgam
of design elements I've seen that always
interested me.

The more I develop it, the less functional the
design seems, but I still plan to finish it to
"complete the thought"--for what it's worth.

If you have any ideas you think would be good,
whether "finishing" or conceptual, please share!

(I did this In cs for my own reasons. It will
work in Half-Life fine too, but the scale will be
smaller, and the lighting a bit darker for some
reason.)

How does a brush's rendering in cs or half-life change?

They don't "look" any different, except for scale.

I first noticed this testing my "Battlefront_Turret" map.

In the cs version--which is what what I used to playtest the map--, the player "fit" perfectly inside the built turret.

When played in hl, the turret is noticably smaller, and you barely fit inside.

Really? I never knew there was any scaling difference :)

Same goes for HL2 and CS:S...Scales are different:

In CS:S the camera is where the crotch is...
In HL2 I am lead to believe it is in the head area.

This looks cool, but I got a message saying you were missing fire2.spr. For now I'll just rename another fire sprite.

Thanks srry. I was under the WHOLLY INCORRECT impression that cs and hl shared the same sprites like sharing the halflife.wad... Again, TOTALLY NO!

"fire.spr" now included for Half-Life users!

Thanks for changing it. I would have used CS to play it, but mine isn't working at the moment.

I have to say, though, I thought the scale looked almost perfect when I played in HL, even if you could step up on the seats. I think those counters (they were kitchen counters, right?) might even be too high in CS.

Could be. Do you mean the wooden ones or the "island in the other room?

I thought I made them 30 units high, but I will double check, thanks :).

These:

I could be wrong about them being too high, I haven't gotten around to playing it in CS since I got it working again.

They look fine too me, but it's all about personal preference. They are a "look" a bit bigger in cs, but not too much so imo.

Thanks for playing it!

@srry:

I lowered the tables about 5 units, and suprisingly, they look substantially better!

Thanks for the input :P!!1

there is absolutely no way the cs camera is at crotch height, its more like neck.

That's because the player is in a "combat" stance at all times, which makes sense for it to be lower.
