This isn't a good map. All of you who are looking to download a good map can hit the back button right now.

The inaptly named "awesomemap" was my very first foray into mapping. Very first. This wasn't just my first playable map, or the first map that I consider vaguely decent. It was literally the first thing I created in Hammer, ever. Opened up this brand new confusing program, got the hang of some basic tools through the included tutorials, and viola. Too bad I was too incompetent to compile it back in 2004.

Generic point lights have been haphazardly scattered around for your viewing pleasure (fullbright maps aren't easy to look at when you've used a total of 2 textures. Yep, 2.) Otherwise, this is 100% original shitty mapping. It's a wonder it didn't have any leaks in it.

Enjoy. Or, better yet, don't. But I felt like uploading it anyway.

Yeah, your first map has... railings, and stairs, and ramps. Mine was a huge (before I got an FGD, so I didn't know the scale) hallway with a 'missile' silo carved into one of the walls. :\

My first map was a cube.

My first map is long gone, but it included such gems as stairs that were a unit high (made by carving, of course), and a ladder that didn't work because I made use of a ladder prefab that was in fact just a ladder built with brushwork, made func_pushable. To stop it moving around I embedded half of it in the wall.

My first map was a horrible attempt at my highschool

I think mine was the tutoral level + world gone mad. It had a ramp, and a pit with boxes, one with a zombie inside, and a long corridor with a door at the end which never opened and flickering point lights...at this point, I broke the compile tools...the old q-tools. I had to use them for years before I got Zoners. I hardly ever finished any maps bacause of them, they kept crashing :(

Fun. My first (compiled) map was a 128x128 box packed with prefabs.

one of my very first maps was called gaga, featuring invisible zombies. has nothing to do with some singer you might have heard of.

Invisible zombies, that's pretty advanced stuff for an early map. I didn't even start messing around with entity properties until later.

By the way, it's missing natural.wad. I just copied and renamed a random one.

I thought I had all the WADs removed from the list, except for halflife.wad.

I'll reupload when I get home, sorry about that guys.

Also averteddoom.wad.

Remember that when you remove WADs you need to restart Hammer for it to take effect.

Anyway, it's fixed now.
