Version 2.0:
Gamebanana

This is version 1.3 of the original deathrun icarus map. It has been released to fix one massive problem with the original release and fix 1.2, with this being player deaths upon spawn on larger servers, and deathrun plugin causing players to die when touching each other in certain areas of map.

Performance was also increased by 5% since fix2, and map size was slightly reduced.

Additionally: The trains are no longer as loud, and the traps are no where near as annoying anymore. A couple of jumps have been changed slightly.

haha crazy stuff!

I tried like 20 times to navigate the course, only to die each time (even with noclip!). So, i just noclipped the hole path to check things out. I'm just horrible at these types of maps...

Texturing is very nice but perhaps some more variation? Also, the scrolling "death" texture throughout the whole thing, makes an otherwise very visually-interesting map seem kinda bland. =(

I particularly liked the localized sounds at some of the obstacles, like the func_wall-toggle blocks. Hard to belive you can have all this interactive stuff in the map and still have it run so smoothly.. very nicely done!

I felt like some underlying music would have been nice for this, fsr, i kept hearing the original metroid theme in my head while running through this.

I would love to see different obstacle areas seperated by normal walkways--kinda like half-life boot camp--, and a toggleable hologram to give you hints if you hit a button or something. I know that's not the right thing for this type of map, but it might be nice for newcomers to this style of play.
=P

Very nice work!

It's a Deathrun map, there are several servers of the sort for cs 1.6 all around the world, and it's a popular game mode. It is designed to have up to 31 ct and 1 terrorist, the terrorist activates traps to try to kill the counter-terrorists, and the ct's run the obstacles which eventually lead to the terrorist where they can kill him, that's the sole objective of the map. There are no tips since people who play these modes most likely have experience in them, and if they don't well this is a rather hard map they should try an easy one first. You need to know how to Long-Jump, Bunny-hop and so on...

I should have known people on TWHL wouldn't understand it, it's not something we make here often or that anyone besides me and stojke plays.

Hey, I play deathrun maps! Have you ever played supermonkeyball on FM on TFC? Or how about Deathrun on ZM? (I like the ZM deathrun, it's where the zombie master drops all kinds of crap down a hill.)
