Data Transmission (A Competition 43 Submission)
You are Dr. Greg Coomer, A Senior scientist and radio operator in the Data Communications facility in Black Mesa's new initative - Black Mesa Xeno Facility.
And today is shaping up to be a pivotal day in your career. As the highly-revered C-33 A Test Lab is scheduled to run the Anti Mass Spectrometer on 105% to analyze a rare xen sample - the xen exploration team has went to great lengths to acquire it..
However, ever since your workday started and nothing is functioning properly - Central Teleportations Hub, the main system of transportation in BMXF, is offline, the dated Black Mesa Space Tram is reporting many delays, & everywhere you go there are repairs being had left and right. With all that's going on you can't help but feel like it's all a bad omen for what's to come today.
NOTE, THIS IS A DEMO!
Sadly, 20% of the actual submission is playable at the moment, while the other 80% is majorly completed, but unplayable - thusly I included them in a separate file for you guys to enjoy! of course, as with the rest of the submissions - a definitive version is on its way, instead of my plans of just having the tram ride, antenna sequence, and post disaster quests - youll get to see more of BMXF, starting from your dormitories to escaping from BMXF to BMRF, Stay tuned!
I tried my best to have most of the environment interactible, I recommend pressing e on anything you see and see if it reacts to you :>, any and all criticisms are expected! Please report to me any bugs you run into.
"The point I would make is, if I go up to a wall and shoot it [and nothing happens], to me it feels like the wall is ignoring me. I'm getting a narcissistic injury when the world is ignoring me. So it is like, to me, I was trying to convey to the user a sense of, “Yes, you were making choices; yes, you were progressing.”- Lord GabeN.
Otherwise the level design is amazing, but I also unfortunately ran into a several bugs: double/disappearing guard on loading, scientist who promises a reward for the toilet paper but only reaches the window, and I haven't managed to fully start the reator yet. I'm still looking forward for the rest, keep it up
