ok, the cubemaps are all there as per usual,
and the previous compiles worked fine until now.

I type in buildcubemaps and it does it but doesnt save.
The cubemaps haven't been created; nasty blue reflections.

Heres what it says in console after:
Any help please?

Could it be the same as the HL error

Did you place cubemaps, or assign them faces? Also, do you have a leak? That could be the cause. Also, to you have too much different lights close to the cubemaps? Also, are your cubemaps too close to eachother?

No leaks,
too many lights/cubemaps close? Maybe, but not more than i usually do..

ps: This is the first time ive played with the lightmap scales, if that makes a difference.

its got something to do with lights or lightmap scales... :

i removed all lightmap scales just incase and readded my cubemaps, problem remains

Can't load skybox file skybox/sky_day02_01 to build the default cubemap!
Make sure that sky really exists, which means going into the gcf and looking for the file yourself. Weird stuff happens without default cubemaps.

I get the same error. :(

It's not the sky I'm sure, and it's not the cubemaps being too close together mainly because the sky texture and cubemaps are in the same place as before the engine update. (And they worked fine then)

I actually deleted all the cubemaps,
so when i buildcubemaps it shouldnt even do anything but it still comes up with.

It's the engine. Valve updated it last week.

Join the other hundreds of people who have been having problems with the update...

The cubemaps are fine, its just that HL2DM doesnt create them properly(on any map), however when in Garrysmod i typed buildcubemaps and it worked.
I already re-installed HL2, what does it take?! Argh!

The only game which doesn't seem to be affected by the engine update is HL2. Which is why people who map for HL2 haven't had any stupid errors in Hammer.

Just wait for a fix.
