I just downloaded WorldCraft a couple days ago and I've been trying to figure it out. I was reading a tutorial called In The Beginning on the TWHL website here and I figured almost all of that out. Now, I'm just stuck on the compiling. At the bottom of that tutorial it gives a link to a different tutorial about compiling. I tried the first thing it says to do on there, which is just the normal built-in easy compiler. I did it with all of the settings on normal and "-dev -console" in the Additional Game Parameters text box, but when i tried compiling, it had an error that said "Could not find filesystem dll to load". After that i tried the more advanced one. I did everything exactly how the website said to do it, and it seemed like it was working. It did a lot of the code stuff in the "Compile Process Window" then had 2 errors that said "The command failed. Windows reported the error: 'The system cannot find the file specified.'" then give you the choice to continue. It did this twice, and i clicked continue both times. It actually opened up Condition Zero and seemed to work (oh, i forgot to mention that i was trying to make a map for CZ, but i dont think that matters too much, does it???) and tried to load it but had the error in the console that said "map change failed: 'test2' not found on server" (test2 is the name of my map, BTW). After that, i tried the batch compiling method talked about in that tutorial i talked about. I did everything that it said and actually changed stuff that i needed too, but the tutorial didnt say about, and the first time i ran this, on my first test map, it made some extra files, but no BSP file. Then i did it with my test2 map, and this time nothing happened. So i used to command prompt program and opened up the test2.bat file and it kept saying this...

"[file.exe] is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"

It said that for every file that was called for in the batch file.

So, I have no idea what to do. I ahve tried everything that the tutorial said other than the GUI's, and nothing is working. All i really need is the BSP files and none of the compilers are making 1 for me. Please help me out. Reply here or e-mail to blakeh210@yahoo.com

I think WorldCraft and Hammer are the same. The website I got the download from said WorldCraft, but now as I look at the program it says Hammer. ANd i remember using a options menu just like the one you showed, so i think we are talking about the same program here

I dunno if anyone really cares still, but I still can't figure out how to get those BSP files. I did all of the compilers and none gave me a BSP file.

Worldcraft and Hammer are the same. Worldcraft only had a change of name since version 3.4. From 3.4, its named Valve Hammer Editor. Any tutorial that's been written for Worldcraft, also works for Hammer.

Alright thanks. Now I know for sure that Worldcraft and Hammer are the same thing. Next, I want to figure out how to fix my compiling problem.

Worldcraft and Hammer aren't exactly the same. Muzzle, how could you tell somebody something like that? Surely you know better? This page has a list of things changed since Worldcraft, and you can download Hammer there too:

Hammer only had a couple of fixes and changes, but usage did'nt change. If it did was, they are probably very small.

They're mostly small changes, but the most helpful bugfix (for me) was the "problem with running compile tools from paths with spaces." That one caused me a lot of grief.
