what exactly does the dll do? i thought when i opened hl.dll with a c++ compiler it would come up with the half-life source code. What is the difference between the half-life source which are in c++ source and c header files, and hl.dll?

a dll is a compiled library, how can a compiler open it any more than it could open hl.exe ??

get hl SDK! its the single and multy source ... pls if you knew anough abootc++ to edit or mod the source u wouldn't open it with a compiler
