i know im new to mapping but how do i create a steam effect, like from a busted pipe... is it env_? and what setting do i use?

If you posted in the correct forum (HL engine discussion or Source engine discussion) we could be of more help. For Source mapping, the entity is env_steam. It can either look like gas or heat distortion.

k sorry, its for hl engine. that tutorial doesnt help me because all i want to know is what the entity's name is and its settings... but ty anyways

env_sprite. Find the steam sprite you want, located inside Half-Life.gcf. Set render mode to additive and amount to 255.

Try this one from VERC if the other methods don't work the way you want.
