Lolo cool

It reminded me of gold, cause i have a friend that has a small golden statue like those cubes.

Pyrite is also called "Fool's Gold", or, a mot-a-mot translation from my language, "Stupid's Gold".
But yeah, that's not gold, it's Iron Sulfide( FeS2).

Also, the other mineral is Mica, a common izolator used in electronics.

The photo of the broken glass is pretty awesome. The pyrite in the snow... I don't get it. Why is a chunk of pyrite sitting in the snow in the first place?

@Caboose: Beautiful exposure. Did you use high ISO? Because even not too long (<5s) exposures of the sky result in motion-blurred stars.
Posted 13 years ago2011-02-12 18:09:44 UTC Post #290318
Thanks :)

Not really, no. That image's exposure was 20s, f/4, ISO 200. The star trailing is very minimal, only barely noticeable at 100% magnification.
Posted 13 years ago2011-02-12 19:37:08 UTC Post #290319
That is interesting. If I were to try doing the same, I would fail because my camera's sensor is only 1\2,3 inch( I think), so it's not getting enough light.

I also noticed that if I focus on a bright star and set the maximum exposure (8 secs on my camera), it appears to be blurred. We are moving really fast!

That's odd, the night of the eclipse I did not very long exposures and they came out slightly blurred. Hang on, I'll check again.

That's just a bad 3ds max render :P

Good flash is the reason real cameras come with a special socket for you to attach either an external flash unit or a radio transmitter to trigger several external lamps.

Those photos are ok, and some look really good, but it's a bad idea to make all of your photos inclined.
Striker StrikerI forgot to check the oil pressure
Posted 13 years ago2011-02-17 09:51:49 UTC Post #290486
Good point, but I'm inclining most of them because of either

A. Lighting
Or
B. Pleasure of view, not many of them would look good or natural if they were completely straight on.

Although, I have noticed I do do quite the sharp incline, I'll keep that in mind, thanks.
