Well, this is kind of a noob problem, and it's probably simple to solve, but I just can't figure this out. So, my problem is: How can I start HL2DM in offline mode? I've played it on the internet a few times, but now we want to try it out with my buddy on LAN, and I just can't start it without Steam telling me, that I can't run it in offline mode.

Why do you even switch it to offline mode? Just play it normally...

Start an LAN game and have him join it...

Heh, yeah, couldn't figure out to just leave steam open, unplug the cable from the internets, and connect it to the other computer...I fail

When i startup Steam, and Steam detects no connection to the internet, Steam asks me to go into offline mode which works fine. This only works if you check the "save Steam information on this pc" box. Or something like that...

I think what he is saying is that steam won't allow him to run hl2dm while he is in offline mode.

why would you want to run it in offline mode?
You have to connect to play lan anyway
