Up until now I've been using the old version of half life but now I got the steam version of Half life and I was wondering how do you play mods in steam

You just drop the mod folder into the half-life folder, restart steam, and you should be A-ok.

I think he's wondering how you launch it. They just how up in your games list, there's no custom game menu in-game.

You need to restart Steam after you've installed a mod.

It's not an unnecesary post, mods don't show in the game list until you restart Steam.
