Are there anyway to preserve render properties(mine are rendermode-texture/fxamount-70) for our propper models?

Honestly can't remember the last time I used render properties on a brush in Source. Just make a transparent texture.

I think there is a way to do it in the vmt alone, but you'd be much better adding an alpha channel to the vtf. You have far, far more control.

You're looking for Dynamic Materials with Proxies ;).

For just basic transparency you wouldn't need any proxies.

If there's just small individual transparent parts in your model, I'd recommend making them a seperate model with propper. Then you can use material wide transparency like $alpha.

thanks striker that is so cool! Can't wait to try them to see if they work in css =)

Striker: ya, i'm just making a rainbow. so, am i correct in assuming i could make that whole texture render mode: texture, render amt: 70? (like some source glass textures, right?)
