My brother has gifted me Need For Speed Hot Pursuit on steam. But when I start it up, the screen eventually goes black (as though it were loading) then come up with one of those "Need For Speed has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" errors.
It'd be a complete waste of his money if this won't work. So, any suggestions? Please? Pretty please?

On the plus side, it does work for me and was still a complete waste of money.

Anyway, yeah, got most recent video drivers. Also tried stuffing around with the CPU cores it used (saw something about an error involving them), no luck.
