Why the fuck does'nt this work:

D:/Steam/Steam.exe -applaunch 420 -game <full path to my sourcemod> +map mapname

This should launch my sourcemod using the Episode Two engine and load the specified map.

It does that, except that it's not loading the specified map. Why?
I also tried the Steam URL protocol:

steam://rungameid/14981334682858160548 +map mapname

This also only launches the mod, but not the map. The same thing happens when i try an original Source game, like Half-Life 2:

steam://rungameid/220 +map mapname

That launches Half-Life 2, but not the map.
The fuck?

No, it loads no map. It's like Steam just ignores the +map parameter when launching source mods.

Isn't it just -map?

I've never used +map for source OR goldsource and -map always loads the proper map for me.

I'll try it, but i always thought that +map is correct one.

Edit: -map does nothing as well.

Goddamn this crap.

Are you sure you can append parameters to applaunch shortcuts like that? The only way I've gotten things that run through steam shortcuts like that is to append the +map command to the 'launch options' tab in Steam.

I can add the +map parameter to any game, except to Source mods because only then Steam or whatever ignores it.

Adding the +map parameter to the launch option tab is not the solution im looking for as i want to do it outside Steam.

maybe it just can't run maps cause' that parameter is not recognized by steam?

There are no parameters that steam cannot recognize, steam has nothing to do with the parameters, it's simply passing them onto the game executable.

It works with every other Source Game, except with Source Mods.

if you are so smart, crollo, then why in Ultimate SSDK's game launcher there ISN'T a parameter of this kind? Cause' it works just like steam!

Try using hl2.exe from the game folder as shortcut instead of Steam shortcut.

Because it isn't steam, it's an illegal copy of the SourceSDK which also isn't even remotely close to working like steam.

sigh I am out of here...
EDIT: at least try -appid instead...

Nope, +map mapname is still being ignored.
at least try -appid instead...
You mean -appid <id>?
That does nothing. It only activates the Steam UI.
