You're essentially 'looking through' sky brushes.
Try combining them or putting a few layers of sky brushes, or black brush on the outside of it.

why would you want your map to disappear from a certain angle? it never looks good, just make a nice wall, even if you wont be able to reach it

yeah that's a better idea. make a nice outdoor area and enclose that in the skybox.

also the forum section you're looking for is "HL Engine Discussion"

Bruce, the problem at hand is that you'd be seeing the inside-out brushes from elsewhere in the map.

Of course, this implies a deeper problem than that. Why are you seeing brushes from behind at all? You would never see something like this in real life; Architecture is never like that because the real world's geometry would otherwise be impossible. So if you have a case like the one in your screenshot, it would be a case of an incomplete map where the things you should be seeing through the windows (i.e the other side of the building/wall) are missing. So don't be lazy and map the place properly, either make a proper construction there or eliminate the windows, because as it is, it doesn't make sense. :)

You'll see how things start looking so much more natural when you add things that are not necessarily the level geometry directly relevant to the spaces you are navigating. Places you can't really access but still can see parts of such as having a patio or a garden there, or distant buildings behind the directly visible buildings add a lot of depth to a map. (see Altdel by Archie for example)

Yeah I'm replying a month later, sue me.

Thanks for the feedback guys I appreciate it, build walls where you could see floating brushes. But whether or not you'd be able to see buildings from that spot, building a wall feels like wiping this problem under a rug, I can't help but feel that this will cause more problems later on

it's a stupid thing, might make your head explode as well

I think an image can describe this better:
You're seeing that because any face adjacent to a sky brush is culled (removed) during compile. So you're looking through the skybrush at the world behind it. Sky brushes don't hide the world behind them.

If you open up that area, you'll be able to see the wall. But it's also a good idea to toss some props and details in there to make your world seem more visually interesting.
