I dont think you use boot disks for winXp, you can install from CD...
I have no idea what im talking about though.

When formatting a floppy diskette users have the option of creating a MS-DOS startup disk, follow the below steps to do this.
1. Place diskette in the computer.
2. Open My Computer and right click the A: drive and click Format.
3. In the Format window check Create an MS-DOS startup disk.
4. Click Start

winxp boots from the cdrom, why do you need a floppy boot disk? (just set the bios to boot from cd before hard disk)

The Windows XP boot disk is missing some important stuff. For example, if you can't be assed changing the BIOS so that it boots from a CD you'll need a Windows 2000, ME or 98 boot disk as the XP version doesn't load the drivers for CD support. I keep two ME boot disks handy. I would recommend a 98 boot disk if you really need one. Find someone with 98 on their computer and make a boot disk.

Google. Be very careful, BIOS-flashing can trash your motherboard.

I do BIOS flashing all the time. If it goes wrong, you can buy a replacement flash chip. They are stored on flash memory.
