It took me two days, about 8-10 hours. The hard part was getting the one to slide correctly on the counter and always kill every time. But what a thrill it is to take an idea from your head and get it working in a map! That's what mapping is all about. If you're like me, you get this wild rush when it finally works right and you stand up and CHEER and do the victory dance!!! WOOHOO!! :) OK I'll try to calm down...

Well, I pretty much did that when I won the Trapped compo :)
Probably won't enter/enter much of a map for this one - I can't spend half a month mapping constantly, every month!!!

Ummm what do you mean you can't spend half a month mapping every month?

Seriously, It is an on going thing, I found a disk the other day that had a map I started in '99. When I ran it, I realised why I never finished it :-( SlayerA on the other hand started Minimicus in 2000 and stuck with it. Well done, but he is right when he say's that half the fun of mapping is actually getting something to work. Just think back to your first room with pipes, did you run around madly banging on them because they gave off a metalic sound? I know I did :-)

No imagination required: he said, 8-10hrs ;)

Any tips on getting rid of the big momma in the kitchen? It usually whups me, and I don't have many explosives. About 2 AR grenades, that's it.

I played it. Very good! I especially liked the scripted sequences at the end. But... I thought it was pretty weird. I mean, you started out in some research lab, you shrank, went through a hole and found yourself under a building or something. Then you're in a kitchen. Where'd that come from?

Anyway, great work. I enjoyed playing it. :)

Yeah, it took a couple of tries to get it working right. But it's really just 4 sets of path corners with 4 func_trains following them. Setting up the letters and getting the paths figured out was the hardest part. Glad you guys liked it! I'm still chuffed from the review it got on hangar16. WOOHOO!!

I thought it was well lame dude, it was all like, 'whatever' and there was no 'hello, im mapping over here' dude, you should be more PRO active and less RE active, the grunts were never 'speak to the hand', I would've accepted 'no way man' too.

Put simply it needed more clich?s.
Posted 20 years ago2003-10-20 09:51:50 UTC Post #2930
I downloaded it too (finally) :) . Nice mapping, SlayerA!!! But it could have been a little longer and included a few more elements.

For the rest. I liked it. And I don't usually like mods that use the normal hl weapons and models. I would rate it a 8/10.
