Ok, I just got Steam, considering Won is perminantly shutting down in 1 day and I'm thinking. Uh oh, what is everything different?! What if I lose all my files! What if some of the mods aren't there!!! I must know exactly how it is different from WONID, because I miss Won already.

Steam will copy your WON install into a Steam cache and leave your WON one to do whatever with (move files, mods, etc.)
It does not modify the original WON, and leaves it untouched.
If it doesnt copy all of your mods, manually place them in SteamAppsusernamehalf-life or counter-strike .

And you can play cs 1.5, just put it into half-life folder in steam. but i don't know if anyone will play that, 1.6 is much better than 1.5

1.6 gives you a shield...and some new weapons, if im not mistaken. If no new weapons, modifications to the existing ones.

Steam's recommended specs are higher than your machine. Didn't you say your machine is really old ages ago? Then thats your problem CoolFat.

i got ns3 and when i play co games my cl_dll differs from the servers, and when i play ns games my .bsp is different!

i got a Pentium 3 with 550 MHZ, with the suckiest graphics card. It wont handle HL2, but it handles Steam.

I tried Steam on a similar CPU to yours and it was fine. But then again, it had Ok gfx (Radeon 9500).

Yes. WON is dead. Almost. Hasn't quite finished dying yet. It finishes on the 31st. Steam is great IMO, I just wish some git hadn't got my CD key from a generator program
