By saying it looks relaitsic I'm saying it looks like a photo of an actual alien slave. Its that good. I dunno zeeba, I thought the collar looked pretty metalic, but they never say what they are made of anyway.

well the alien grunts "armor" is just an exoskeleton. After long exposure to non xen foods they will lose there "armor" and die

im not saying that the pic. is bad but in half life, they are a whole lot more blockyer and shiny like some kind of metal.

In Half-Life, you won't see graphics that good :p. They look blocky because of engine limitations. If we lived in a perfect world without game limitations, thats what they would look like.

I saw a tutorial from the guy who made the picture, he actually drew that picture from scratch and enhanced it with photoshop, this guys an artist man.

The splash screen for POV was made by the asame guy, and it uses the same picture of the alien slave, but I still think this looks more realistic.
