In counterstrike I Would like to create my own server...Not just from creating a custom game or anything but a server that will stay there when I leave to where I am an admin,... I searched google but couldn't find anything. Can anyone help me out or give me a websit that might help?

Would AMXMod help? I'm not certain if this is what you need.
To keep the server open while you are not in it, you need Dedicated Server.

Start a dedicated server with amx/admin mod (preferable amx, it has more/better plugins). Thats what I did, I would open a listen server when I wanted to play my server, and tell everyone that server would be shutting down for about a minut while I ready my dedicated sever. Try it, it works and its free.

is it really that simple? i was of the mind you needed to d/l the 'dedicated server' patch from steampowered, and set up a server that way?

When you create a ded. server, it's faster, but you cant play on it from that machine.
