What prgram can you use to make models for HL2?

I heard that you can actually make the model in Hammer4 then export it to a certain file then you can make it a model.

What do i need to do this? And what is XSI (or somethig like that).

Get XSI ModTool 4.1.2 (I think that's the latest) and get the ValveSource addon - That comes with the SDK I believe.

You can model in Hammer 4 then import into XSI then out to a SMD for StudioMdl but you are limited to a small grid size - I make my models as reference in Hammer 4 for size concerns (XSI's grid is inadequate) and then I replace the brushes with the correct sized ones for the prop.

I got one so my main PC will remember my login info and so i can have one for my other PC and at school.

Couldn't you just use the same login for your computers, and the one at school, you can just login every time you use it or whatever you normally do. But since you already have two accounts, you might as well keep them.

Not really - I've just learned everything myself from experimentation :S - It's not too difficult, with lots of trial and error you'll get it.

You must really like to spam!

1. I really do doubt it - tbfh, I don't even know what you mean.

2. That must surely be stated in the programs' docs or in the program itself.

I cant use this program. Not because its hard, its because of its neccisary resolution.

I run at 800x600. It needs 1052xwhatevertheothernumberis. I dont think its very practical to change it everytime i want to use it. And i have to change the on screen size with my monitor.

Well, this sucks. Ill just have to make stuff the olf fashioned way. :)

Yeah, XSI normal is stupid about resolution.
