Hey guys.
I a bit ticked of at Steam Today :( , just downloaded the updateds and now I'm geting a strange error msg everytime I try to run a map in hammer. I am runing a deathmach level and push the run command. The map compiles and I get an error message saying

"Failed to load the launcher DLL:
The specified module could not be found."

I was just wondering if anyone has this problem and better yet if anyone has a solution.

Run the map manually in HL2 with map x in the console.

Yes I could do that, I have also been able to run it on the source dedicated server. It's easy to find ways around the problem, but for the sake of convinience I would like to solve it.

I.E. it' easyer to press go them load up the consol to test my level. :)

I too am experiencing this error, and it hasn't gone away like it did for Itchyosaur. I've turned Steam on and off a dozen times both online and offline, and I've tried running the map under different game configurations, but nothing seems allow any of my levels to load. Like Itchyosaur, I too would like to know if there is a fix for this, because manually loading maps each time, frankly...sucks. If anyone has figured this out, please let me know.

Just run the game from your play games menu once after the update and then loading your levels through hammer should be fine. Dont hold me to this but I had the same error and it went away after I had loaded the actual game.

You know, that might actually work - I haven't loaded Half Life 2 itself ever since I reinstalled it (I had to reformat my pc). I'll try that - thanks everyone, I'll let you know if it works or not later.

Success! Now all who suffer this problem in the future will know what to do - just launch the game first, then run maps in Hammer. Thanks to all who helped.
