While mapping for "Brain Bread", I made a half map. While compiling, sometime in the end, Hammer(3.4) would always not respond. I suppose it is something with the lighting because, getting to my other problem, the map would always be in full bright even with lights in it.

Well, everything is normal in thr "Run" screen(all checks in expert and Don't Run Game checked). As for the actual compiling, I can't get everything because it freezes every time...I think its something in the map because I just made a quick one and though it didn't run the map after compiling, it worked fully.

Yeah, it screws up at the vis compiling(if thats the correct terminology).

I think you're just being impatient. RAD has to run an immense amount of calculations to light your map. You're using ZHLT, I trust?

Try reading on the front page of TWHL, or check Links

Ok; now the compile log goes further yet, it still shuts down Hammer if I click on the compile screen and its still full bright.

Hey everyone; it compiled...and I feel like an ass because it just took some time to compile. Thanks for this idea originally, Monkey. Thanks also to you SariBous for being so patient.

Fair enough.

There're more efficent ways to compile, though, have a look at our tutorial on the subject.
